my boss/friend tells me stories of hamburg, he was in the navy in early 70's, on an a aircraft carrier( the nimitz?) im probaby spelling that incorrectly |

he was probably on a converted WWII "27 Charlie" CVS anti-sub warfare carrier like the Essex, Yorktown or Wasp back then. the Nimitz class hadn't even been built then AND would have been TOO large to get up the Elbe to the Port of Hamburg. |

#30 Posted: 4/29/2012 3:55:42 AM maybe it was closer to mid 70's, he told me he joined the navy so he wouldnt get drafted by the army, his draft number was getting close, vietnam ended like 6 months after he joined te navy  |
