#2 Posted: 4/9/2012 6:34:56 PM Miami @ Maryland in week 1 was probably the worst beat of the season.
The other one that ranks right up there with that one is the Georgia Tech @ NC State. The only reason this was not the worst beat of the year is that some people (like me) had GT at -10 pushed. Most GT backers didn't though, and lost.

#6 Posted: 4/10/2012 1:32:19 AM Another brutal, brutal beat was the Cental Florida @ Florida International game. I had Central Florida -3 first half.
Central Florida was leading 7-0 like 14 seconds remaining in the first half. They were in position for a long field goal attempt. They ran one more play to try and get a little closer. Central Florida QB Jeff Godfrey dropped back to pass. With no pass rush in sight, the ball slipped out his hand as he was attempting to pass. Facaine from FIU pick up the fumble and ran for an uncontested TD to tie the score 7-7 with 6 seconds left in the half.
As bad beats go, they really don't get much worse than that right there.

#11 Posted: 4/16/2012 9:24:32 PM Two people have already mentioned the Maryland/NC State game. That was my bad beat.
Maryland was up 41-14 as 11.5pt dogs late in the third quarter and lost 56-41. |

Ga Tech at NC State...the only way the Ga Tech backers could lose, if Ga Tech did not take a knee to end the game, ran a play, fumble, and NC State it back for a TD with seconds left to cover. Absolutely absure...I still curse johnson...that game wins. look up the box score and the description |

#14 Posted: 4/16/2012 11:44:30 PM FWIW - I've noticed a lot over the past few years that GT screws a lot of people over... I've been on the wrong end of many...
I think the worst beat of anybody last year has to be the USC/Utah ending... Utah backers were paid... then later had it taken away because they decided to give USC the points... I still think it's BS |

#15 Posted: 4/17/2012 12:14:51 AM Hawaii's blocked XP returned for 2 against UW last year is up there.
Hawaii scores to cut the lead to 6. UW blocks and returns the XP for 2 inside of a minute to push the lead to 8.
I had Hawaii +6.5.

#16 Posted: 4/17/2012 12:39:31 AM how about the south carolina intentional safety as time ran out v. Miss St? they were laying 3 and lost 14-12. I wasn't on it but someone in my pool was. Thought I'd bust a gut laughing. Apologies to anyone who had that one. one of the worst of all time.

NC State/Maryland
NC State/Ga Tech
SCar/MSU

#23 Posted: 4/20/2012 12:38:10 AM Baylor v. Washington - I was on the winning/covering side with Baylor, but I don't know how the hell they covered. No D in that game....
Also Oklahoma over Iowa in the Insight Bowl. OU scored on a chump TD by the QB to cover. I was on the winning side of that is well. However, I could feel for the Iowa backers.
Both of these were almost as absurd as the NC State v. Ga Tech debacle...
You just never know...

#25 Posted: 4/24/2012 5:28:01 PM i was on the winning side of a bad beat on the BOWLS as Choklahoma was a -13.5 fave over Iowa----- with Iowa with out TO left Choklahoma had the ball with less thana min---in iowa territory all choklahoma needed to do is take 3 knees and that was the game--- what did stoops did
He ran a powerplay 3 times over the Iowa weak side-----and oklahoma scored a useless TD---to cover the spread only
