Swept the board on Saturday, but had an 0-fer Friday, so looking for a solid day on Sunday.. I started going through the card and had a bunch of things jump up at me, so I decided to put my thoughts down...
Only leans for now, just things I saw in my research, but still will go over these again in the morning..
San Diego/Miami UNDER >>> Potential beast mode alert for JJ - revenge spot against SD, who torched him for 6 runs in 2 2/3 innings back in May. Add to it a personal chip hearing all this talk that he has lost his standing as a top pitcher. So why not Miami? Clayton Richard. I always thought he was decent in a bounce back, but never really checked him out. Since 2009, Richard is 8-4 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.30 WHIP following starts where he allowed 5 earned runs or more. Not record stopping numbers, but in 14 of these 16 starts, he allowed 3 earned runs or less. He had two not so good starts, but no denying the 14 out of 16.
Philadelphia Phillies >>> Since 2009, Doc is 4-2 with a 1.57 ERA and 0.81 WHIP in starts against opponents where in his last start against them he allowed 5 earned runs or more. In his alst start vs. Atlanta, he gave up 8 earned runs. First two starts under his belt following his stint on the DL and I think he will be dealing tomorrow. Like that Hudson opposes him tomorrow.
Houston Astros >>> Um, yeah. Tough to get behind this one, but I do like it
Chicago White Sox >>> Texas swept at home? Yep. Don't like what I'm seeing from that team recently and if Floyd gets his funk going, he will be real frustrating for that struggling offense. Rangers have been brutal vs. righties while Chisox have been pummeling lefties.
Tampa Bay/Los Angeles OVER 8
Cleveland / Minnesota UNDER ?
May have a few more. Generally speaking, I think unders turn a profit tomorrow. I'd endorse a blanket roll on the unders.
Time for bed, until tomorrow morning..
