I leave October 26th. Don't know where yet. I have been able to spend some quality time with my family, and especially my son, basketball, baseball tournaments, talked him into playing football this season. And just been trying to spend as much time with him as possible. Very hard thing to deal with and go thru. I'm an extremely beaten man at this point. Just want to get this all over with. But it hasn't even begun yet.

Wow. I really don't have any advice for you.

I guess try not to become an animal despite living with them for a probable 4-6 years depending on good behavior.

I did my years standing on my head...  wasnt that bad at all . BUt I also didnt have a daughter at the time... not sure if I could handle being away like that now that I do ... Just know that people got it way worse and this is only a temporary problem ... take any good time you can get and apply for programs they help you get paroled even faster.

Why dont you take your family and leave the country? 5 and half years is a long time to give away in your life, especially with a son who will basically grow up without you during that time.

Thanx to everyone that had something positive to say. Greatly appreciated. In 2 weeks it will be 1 year and I have had a good amount of time to reflect and what I've done. And realize now that I made some very poor decisions and executed poor judgement for better part of my life, I understand now that it is my family who will suffer. Why I still don't agree with the amount of time I'm facing and will probably receive I do feel grateful that I'm no longer involved in that lifestyle and I'm thankful that my son won't follow in my foot steps.


TRAIN69.... I considered that but you need atleast 1 mill to go on the run like that and why I have ampul $ saved it's not worth looking over my shoulder for the entire extent of my life. But I feel what u mean. Being without my family is the hardest part

Train lol you know that is terrible advice when he could be out in slightly less then 5 years 



facing 15 years + with prior histories.... that is great advice but less then 5

I hope your right. I can't get my hopes up tho because it sounds like the Feds take that minimum mandatory garbage very serious when it comes to cocaine! I just want this behind me. I learned my lesson, isn't like I'm going to do it again.

You'll be alright brother. Just keep your head straight. Hopefully they will let you out early.

The important thing is that you aren't going to state prison. If that were the case, I would tell you to leave the country immediately. You'll be alright.

How do you end up in a state prison as opposed to federal?  I would think if you are going to prison, it would be for a felony...

What am I missed, and are state prisons really worse?  Why?

My father in law did 10 years in leaveworth 1972-1982 and now his life has been great for 20 years.  Hang in there man u will miss time with ur family but there will be plenty of good times with them after ur time is served.  GL

Cocaine charge will automatically qualify you for the RDAP; Residential Drug Abuse Program. 1 yr off your sentence, plus Halfway house 6-9 months, plus Camp 1 yr. Seriously, nothing to worry about. Be TRU to the Game, and the Game will Be TRU to YOU.
