#26 Posted: 7/28/2012 4:40:09 PM one particular reason why all the money on bombers can be scary lester. if lester has had similar pitching this year, i would take red sox ML, but when i checked his sabermetrics, well, i gave up studying this guy. his biggest weapon was cutters, which have bitten him ironically. his cutters have been hittable all year. IMO his cutters should have had more horizotal movement. OVER or bombers or no play for me.

About 3 weeks ago I finally came to the conclusion that it's not happening. Tailing Lester the rest of the year. He is in the bottom 3rd of MLB pitchers in terms of stuff, command, clutchness and everything else this year. To sum it up, he lost it and he isn't very good, but because of his history the books still give him respect. If you subbed in Aaron Cook into this matchup the line would be -220, and Lester is basically on par with Aaron Cook right now.
He will give up at least 5 runs in the first 4 innings with a pitch count up near 100. Mark my words.
couldn't agree more. i thought him highly last year, but this year, weill, i seriously doubt he CAN have momentum. probably it would be right time to take him only when his cutters have similar to last year, which is not likely to happen this year. those balls can be hittable hard, without no late movement, no sharp horizontal movement, then the balls are sooooooo much risky. if red sox wins today, it will come from their offense, not from his pitching gem.
