I disagree…  As rambled as his thoughts were, there was some merit to his statement…  The Wise Men in Vegas knew the Illini was going to win this game…  Created the illusion the Zags were the play for overthinkers like me…

.......

if the wise men in vegas knew illinois was going to win, why not set the line at -4.5....let the world bet on gonzaga.....and collect about 100 million dollars?

instead youre saying they gave 12 points to the 12th rank team, to create the illusion that gonzaga was going to blow them out?  To fool a few over thinkers?  while 85% of the betting population was on illinois catching double digits, and giving illinois a ML price of +500???

uhhhhhh....

unless the "overthinkers" were betting 10 million each, im pretty sure books got smoked on this game.

Alot of you guys are dismissing the fact that illinois was +500 on the ML tonight, because the spread was so high.

+500 is alot of value to give a damn near top 10 team in the country.

Completely agree with you…, but I guarantee you there weren’t 100 people in this country (hxll the world) on the Illinois Moneyline…  Some times the public wins (i.e. Denver thursday night, Duke, Ohio State, Notre Dame today etc…).  If Vegas won all the time, you and I wouldn't be communicating now...  They minimize their loss by maintaining there -110

Zags are choke artists in big games. The last one vs WashSt was your clue.

You Sir had 20% of all the Illinois Moneyline action in this country…  Per capita, your market is sharper than the ultra competitive Vegas market…

but 12!?!??!?

12 points to a team that could easily win outright???

ridiculous.

duke gives 7 to temple....yet gonzaga gives 12 to illinois?

No sense.

I don"t give a damn if they do go out of business, cuz they don"t give a garbage if their customers lose their butts. Get real dummy.,I went 8-1 today on some of those lines and loved it.

They don't set all lines to generate 50/50 action.

do you understand that the entire world was on Illinois in this game?

Do you understand that books desperately needed gonzaga to cover 11.5?

if they wanted insurance, to try to even out the action....the line would have moved down from 11.5 instead of going up to 12.  The oddsmakers took a gamble with this game, and they lost.  They failed miserably.

because this line was soo off/inflated do you understand what this did to the money line?  Do you know how many people looked the ML of illinois and saw +500 and said "wow that is insane value on the 12th best team in the country"

not only did illinois cover the 1st half, the 2nd half, and the entire game.....but they also covered the ML as well.

Books got hammered son, please stop smoking drugs.

i love this lols

i saw this line early and laughed. being an illini fan  my senses told me i could be letting my heart get the best of me but i pulled the trigger and then after 2st half pounded illinois again. dbl winner. i can see how the place is hard to play,., and that gonzaga had the team to put a whipping on them..hell , early i said here we go...line was right...but...illinois played great d and hit shot after cshot, took zaga out of there comfot zone and coasted to the vixctory. illinois will conend in the big ten..the will have truble with a big man though.

on the dflip side..i say the clemson line also and said wtf...they should cover. arz went east and whipped there behind. linesmakers know what they are doing...but they wont get thewm all right. there were some tastey dogs outright yesterday. just gotta find them//gl ryno

honestly I caught that right away but you would not be saying that early when they were down 12 -0 looked like gonzaga would skate threw illinois but then gonzaga started to shot bad and when stockton is missing easy shots you know your team is in trouble.
