#51 Posted: 4/10/2012 12:05:05 AM #1 CANUCKS VS #8 KINGS SEASON SERIES TIED (2-2) Canucks (51-22-9) 111 PTS - Kings (40-27-15) 95 PTS
CANUCKS HOME - 27-10-0-4 AWAY - 24-12-2-3 OFFENSE Goals - 2.9 Shots - 31.5 Power Play - 19.8% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.3 Shots Against - 30.8 Penalty Kill - 86.0 Shutouts - 9 GOALIES Luongo - Record (31-22) - 2.41 GAA - 5 Shutouts Schneider - Record (20-9) - 1.96 GAA - 3 Shutouts
KINGS HOME - 22-14-0-5 AWAY - 18-13-6-4 OFFENSE Goals - 2.3 Shots - 30.6 Power Play - 17.0% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.1 Shots Against - 27.4 Penalty Kill - 87.0% Shutouts - 11 GOALIES Quick - Record (35-34) - 1.95 GAA - 10 Shutouts Bernier - Record (5-8) - 2.36 GAA - 1 Shutouts
SEASON SERIES
11-10-11 @ LA Canucks (3-2) Luongo vs Quick Canucks -102 - Push 5
12-31-11 @ LA Kings (4-1) Quick vs Luongo Kings +115 - Push 5
1-17-12 @ VANCOUVER Kings (3-2 SO) Quick vs Luongo Kings +156 - Push 5
3-26-12 @ VANCOUVER Canucks (1-0) Luongo vs Quick Canucks -118 - Under 5
THOUGHTS Well I'd LOVE to see the Kings pull off the upset here. Canucks have been playing okay hockey but not the hockey I know these guys are capable of playing. Kings at times have looked really good but I question if they can hang with the Canucks in 7 games. As much as I'd like to see the Kings beat Vancouver I think they are going to struggle. I expect these games to be pretty low scoring as they basically have been all season. Not sure how many games this goes down to. Kings will probably win a game or two but in the end I think Canucks advance to the second round. Quick will basically have to try to carry his team and hope that the Kings can score some goals. Also another thing I'm curious to see is how much playing time does Luongo get? Will he be able to carry the Canucks through the playoffs. Guess we will just have to wait and see. Anything can happen in the playoffs but I'm assuming Vancouver advances to the next round. However I don't think this will be as one sided of a series as some people may think. Hoping for the upset but pretty sure Vancouver takes care of business. |

#54 Posted: 4/10/2012 12:34:16 AM #2 BLUES VS #7 SHARKS BLUES LEAD SEASON SERIES (4-0) Blues (49-22-11) 109 PTS - Sharks (43-29-10) 96 PTS
BLUES HOME - 30-6-1-4 AWAY - 19-16-0-6 OFFENSE Goals - 2.5 Shots - 30.6 Power Play - 16.7% DEFENSE Goals Against - 1.9 Shots Against - 26.7 Penalty Kill - 85.8 Shutouts - 15 GOALIES Elliot - Record (23-14) - 1.56 GAA - 9 Shutouts Halak - Record (26-19) - 1.97 GAA - 6 Shutouts
SHARKS HOME - 26-12-2-1 AWAY - 17-17-3-4 OFFENSE Goals - 2.7 Shots - 33.8 Power Play - 21.1% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.5 Shots Against - 28.6 Penalty Kill - 76.9% Shutouts - 6 GOALIES Niemi - Record (34-31) - 2.42 GAA - 6 Shutouts Greiss - Record (9-8) - 2.30 GAA - 0 Shutouts
SEASON SERIES
10-15-11@ SAN JOSE Blues (4-2) Elliott vs Greiss Blues +135 - Over 5.5
12-10-11@ ST LOUIS Blues (1-0) Elliot vs Niemi Blues -108 - Under 5
3-12-12@ ST LOUIS Blues (3-0) Halak vs Niemi Blues +103 - Under 5
3-3-12 @ SAN JOSE Blues (3-1) Halak vs Niemi Blues +103 - Under 5
THOUGHTS Although the Blues have looked sloppy at times they have still remained a top tier team all season long. With a tough defensive scheme and some outstanding goalies these guys could be tough to beat. I said before the playoffs that I thought the Blues wouldn't go very far once the playoffs rolled around. Lack of offense, lack of experience and so on. However the Sharks haven't been very impressive at all this season. I know they have all that talent but I don't think they will be able to handle the Blues. The Blues might not score on them very much but their goaltending is solid and I think the Sharks will have trouble against these guys. Blues have had a terrific season and I believe this will advance to the second round. They have been stellar at home and I don't think a few loses towards the end of the season should fool you guys. It's a long season and if they so called "let off the gas peddle" a little bit towards the end of the season that is okay. Look for the Blues to be ready and continue their dominance of the Sharks into the playoffs. Another nice thing the Blues have going their way is towards the end of the season we actually saw this team start scoring as well. Tough defensive and some offensive firepower could be a great combination for this team throughout the playoffs. |

#55 Posted: 4/10/2012 1:03:51 AM #3 COYOTES VS #6 BLACKHAWKS COYOTES LEAD SEASON SERIES (3-1) Coyotes (42-27-13) 97 PTS - Blackhawks (45-26-11) 101 PTS
COYOTES HOME - 22-13-2-4 AWAY - 20-14-1-6 OFFENSE Goals - 2.6 Shots - 29.6 Power Play - 13.5 DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.4 Shots Against - 31.6 Penalty Kill - 85.5 Shutouts - 8 GOALIES Smith - Record (38-28) - 2.21 GAA - 8 Shutouts LaBarbera - Record (3-12) - 2.54 GAA - 0 Shutouts
BLACKHAWKS HOME - 27-8-1-5 AWAY - 18-18-3-2 OFFENSE Goals - 2.9 Shots - 31.5 Power Play - 15.2% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.8 Shots Against - 28.6 Penalty Kill - 78.1% Shutouts - 0 GOALIES Crawford - Record (30-24) - 2.72 GAA - 0 Shutouts Emery - Record (15-13) - 2.81 GAA - 0 Shutouts
SEASON SERIES
10-18-11 @ PHOENIX Hawks (5-2) Crawford vs LaBarbera Hawks -126 - Over 5.5
11-29-11 @ CHICAGO Yotes (4-1) Smith vs Crawford Yotes +135 - Under 5.5
12-5-11 @ CHICAGO Yotes (4-3 SO) Smith vs Emery Yotes +140 - Over 5.5
2-11-12 @ PHOENIX Yotes (3-0) Smith vs Emery Yotes -122 - Under 5.5
THOUGHTS Well this is the way I see it. Nobody was really talking about the Coyotes a few weeks ago and now all of the sudden the Hawks are doomed having to face the Yotes and Mike Smith. BULLSHIT I say. Now most of you see me posting on here so you know I'm a Hawks fan. So take what you want with my write up for this series. All I'm saying is teams get hot then they cool off. Overall the Hawks are the better team and I still say my boys get it done against the Coyotes. Toews will probably be back on Thursday and this is just more firepower the Hawks will have against the Yotes. Everyone keeps saying Phoenix is so tough defensively. Well look at the Blues, Hawks have done good against them this year. Only thing that worries me about the Hawks is goaltending. At times Crawford has looked really good, at other times he has looked like complete garbage. However I still think Chicago is the better team and they will get it done against Phoenix. I don't think it will be easy for them but I still think Hawks get it done. Kane, Hossa, Shaw, Stalberg and Sharp I think will just be too mch firepower for them to handle. Hawks in 6 but look for this series to definitely be a battle.

#56 Posted: 4/10/2012 1:50:17 AM #4 PREDATORS VS #5 RED WINGS SEASON SERIES TIED (3-3) Predators (48-26-8) 104 PTS - Red Wings (48-28-6) 102 PTS
PREDATORS HOME - 26-10-2-3 AWAY - 22-16-1-2 OFFENSE Goals - 2.8 Shots - 27.6 Power Play - 21.6% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.5 Shots Against - 30.8 Penalty Kill - 83.6% Shutouts - 5 GOALIES Rinne - Record (43-26) - 2.39 GAA - 5 Shutouts Lindback - Record (5-8) - 2.42 GAA - 0 Shutouts
RED WINGS HOME - 31-7-1-2 AWAY - 17-21-2-1 OFFENSE Goals - 2.9 Shots - 32.2 Power Play - 16.1% DEFENSE Goals Against - 2.4 Shots Against - 27.0 Penalty Kill - 81.8% Shutouts - 7 GOALIES Howard - Record (35-21) - 2.12 GAA - 6 Shutouts Conklin - Record (5-7) - 3.28 GAA - 1 Shutouts MacDonalds - Record (8-6) - 2.16 GAA - 0 Shutouts
SEASON SERIES
11-26-11 @ DETROIT Wings (4-1) Howard vs Rinne Wings -132 - Under 5.5
12-15-11 @ NASHVILLE Preds (4-3) Rinne vs Howard Preds +118 - Over 5
12-26-11 @ NASHVILLE Wings (4-1) Howard vs Rinne Wings -117 - Under 5.5
2-17-12 @ DETROIT Wings (2-1) MacDonald vs Rinne Wings -142 - Under 5.5
3-10-12 @ NASHVILLE Preds (3-2) Rinne vs MacDonald Preds -145 - Push 5
3-30-12 @ DETROIT Preds (4-1) Rinne vs Howard Preds +134 - Under 5.5
THOUGHTS Another great series between the #4 and #5 seeds. This series has been dead even all season long, which makes it tough to pick a side. I have to go with the Preds on this one though. Wings are horrid on the road and I think this will effect them in the playoffs. I know they have way more experience in this situation but I also think the Predators finally have all the right weapons to progress through the playoffs. Rinne is playing great the the Predators have the best power play in the league and they have home ice advantage. Wings looked great at home for most of the season then started to just look questionable no matter where they played. I think the Preds will win in the end but look for this to be one of the best series all playoff long.

#58 Posted: 4/10/2012 2:09:04 AM Wish I could bet you a keg against your Hawks in round one!
Your special teams rank 26th and 27th!
And Sam Gagner lit your goaltenders for 8 points.
No guarantee on Toews and what he can do.
I just think your mightly underestimating the Coyotes.

#59 Posted: 4/10/2012 2:14:05 AM It's all good man. I'll ship you a keg if you're right
Hawks are a different team in the playoffs and just because Phoenix got hot at the right time I don't think that makes them a better team. Anyways we will just have to watch and see. Sure wish Hawks had home ice advantage but I still think they do it |

#61 Posted: 4/10/2012 2:19:42 AM At least you see Phoenix winning 2 games and you wish Chicago had home ice advantage.
How about if Smith does play out of his behind and beats your boys, you start an appreciation thread for him.
Not a huge fan of American beer. Only MGD when it's ice cold, or Sierra Nevada is kind of good. |

I don't drink American beer really either. Stella, Dos, Amstel, Corona, Heineken, Blue Moon, 312
See anything I wrote that we actually agree on?
I'm looking at Wednesday's game right now and I really like the over in the Preds Wings game and maybe Nucks game

#63 Posted: 4/10/2012 2:31:35 AM Some guy has a thread where he picked under 5 in the Nashville/Detroit game. I think over 5 is a safer bet considering how both teams can score goals this year. Especially in game 1 where it shouldn't be as tight defensively and the teams are feeling each other out.
I think under 5.5 LA/Van is a solid bet if you can find it. Quick has to be even better on the road and so does his defense in front of him. Of course Luongo wants to make a good starting impression. The Pitts/Philly game over 5.5 looks like a great bet of course.
Are you making any exact series prediction bets online anywhere? I just saw the Devils in 5 games at +1000 and think that looks very possible. I like Pittsburgh in 5 games too. I can really see the Blues and Sharks go 7 games. |

And no they don't have anything posted on 5dimes yet for exact series predictions. However I do think Devils should handle the Cats pretty easily. Also like your Pittsburgh prediction too. Think Blues win that series. Probably very low scoring too |
