It's DISGUSTING that college football has poached Syracuse, Pitt, West Virginia and Notre Dame from this dynasty of a hoops league. Especially Cuse and Pitt. It's terrible. LVille will be gone within 2 or 3 yrs - probably to the Big 12
Predict the Big East basketball conference in 4 yrs, I'll have a stab at it:
Georgetown
Villanova
Marquette
St. John's
Seton Hall
Providence
Xavier
Dayton
Butler
UConn
Rutgers
Temple
Memphis
USF
The bottom 5 schools also play D-I football so it's possible they could break away and join some other league but not sure what better option will be out there? At the moment there doesnt appear to be a better option. On it's face, the above league is still a tremendous bball league with programs like Nova, GTown, UConn, Marq, Xavier, Temple, Memphis, StJohns with storied programs and other solid programs. The problem is the league has brought in UCF, SMU and Houston for hoops and not ONE of them fits. I dont think SMU or Houston are going to be long for this league. At least I hope not. Why do you think the conference will look like in 4 yrs?

UConn was the first choice by the ACC when they expanded with Cuse and Pitt. BC vehemently was against UConn so Pitt was chosen instead.
IT has been widely rumored that ND and UConn were the next 2 teams the ACC would take in their next expansion. ND has just accepted so it is most likely between Rutgers and UConn as the next ACC team.
I think UConn will be the chosen team and Rutgers will eventually land in the Big 10.

It should be interesting. If football is the straw that stirs the drink then SMU, Houston, and UCF are the best you guys are gonna get. No, they don't fit for basketball but mostly they don't fit for the minor sports.
