#28 Posted: 1/18/2008 3:33:46 AM Time to grade myself..so I'll give it a 7 out of 10. Washington and Maryland need to get their garbage together. Louisiville is coming on strong ands I expect them to make noise in late february.
And for my beginning of conference season top 10
1. Kansas
2. Marquette
3. UCLA
4. UNC
5. Washington St.
6. Texas AM
7. gtown
8. Indiana
9. Clemson
10.Texas
These teams will have some bad games but are looking good for a major post season run. |

#29 Posted: 3/2/2008 12:35:36 PM Might as well start narrowing it down to the top 5.
This year should be wide open. The last two years featured one team with 3 future lottery picks in the starting line up. That just wasn't fair.
This features 2 teams with two future first rounders.
1. UCLA
2. UNC
3. Memphis
4. Gtown
5. Washington St.
Theres a large gap between 2 and 3. Not in terms of overall talent but in terms of ability to overcome bad luck. UCLA is tremendous in the back court and has Love in the front court. UNC's backcourt isn't quite as stellar but they still have Hansborough in the front court.
To beat these teams you need the refs help and some great point guard play. Memphis has the best chance to do so IMO because of Mr. Rose. But Mr. Rose needs to keep playing well and have CDR with a hot hand throughout the tourney. If CDR gets hot then all bets are off but getting hot is tough in tourney conditions when you are a 1 seed. |

#32 Posted: 3/2/2008 9:47:58 PM haha yeah, way off on orginal top 10 and midseason but guess that will happen when teams get hyped up so much b4 the year. Really wondering why your so high on mid major teams i e butler drake and xavier? UW fan but don't knwo if they can get to final 4 if they get the right matchup they can beat most teams in the country but we will have to see gl. UNC is not a great team because they can't and don't play defense I could se them losing a game if they don't shoot 50% |

#33 Posted: 3/3/2008 1:06:17 AM Really like Wisconsin to make final 4??? I love Bo Ryan and they've got a couple players but I've made a nice chunk going against them a bunch of times this year (with the exception of their blowout win @ Illinois), and I just haven't been very impressed. |

#34 Posted: 3/3/2008 2:26:56 AM elite 8 is always tough to pick but I will be surprised if wisconsin, drake get this far. UNC will definitely be there if Lawson is healthy. |

#35 Posted: 3/3/2008 2:43:51 AM razz I think you are confusing ats w/ just winning games? The badgers don't blow teams out simple as that. I dont know how u can watch their games and not be impressed with their defense honestly it's the reason they have a chance in any game they play |

#37 Posted: 3/4/2008 1:31:41 AM I recognize Wisconsin DOES win quite often, however the fact that they have to tussle with the dregs of the Big 10 shows that they may not have enough talent to beat the competition in the 2nd or 3rd rounds of tournament play. I agree that their defense can keep them in almost any game and the physical games they've been in may help them in certain postseason situations. However, they're just not good enough to beat enough teams in the tourney to go Final 4. |

#38 Posted: 3/4/2008 4:11:16 PM I wouldn't say my preseason was way off. Pitt was in great position before the injuries.
Maryland could be solid but Vaszquez completely changed his game on me. Washington should say Washington St. but I didn't write it up correctly so I will take my L like a man. As for Michigan St. I guess they are only a top 15 team.
lastly,
I think that the postseason being a one and done type deal means your team has to be very consistent to win. Carolina is my heart. I have loved them since I found out what ncaabb was. But just like last year they rely on their jump shots for too many long stretches to get away with it for 3 or 4 straight games against good competition.
That doesn't mean I dont think they are top 5 team. It just means I don't think they have what it takes to consistently beat good teams. |

#39 Posted: 3/4/2008 4:35:27 PM Man, I just wrong the longest post which I friggin lost by hitting back. There is a giant black palm print in the middle of my forehead.
1 Ucla
2 Lville
3 Marquette
4 Texas
5 gtown
6 wash st
7 xavier
8 tennessee
9 w Virginia
10 INdiana
11 txam
12 Purdue
13 Gonzaga
14 ND
15 uconn
16 nmex
17 miss st
18 Pitt
19 Ohio St
20 Arkansas
All this list means is that these are the teams which I think have great chances of pulling multiple upsets or great chances of withstanding multiple upsets.
I found some notes from last year and if I had made similar lists I would have hit on alot of dogs. |

#42 Posted: 3/5/2008 3:28:40 PM As far being able to squeak out some wins. Yes I think txam is 11th. In terms of most talented teams who would have the best record in a league composed of tournament teams my rankings look a little more traditional
1. Kansas
2. UCLA
3. Memphis
4. Duke
5. UNC |
