It looks like a nice little gated community. The new shopping center on Blue Diamond looks good too. Close to Town Square and south end of strip.

love it,  I bought a house in this exact area of town  just go in the target at the blue diamond shopping center and it will give you a good cross referance of the people that live in this area

OT, good looking dog.

I have two pugs, a fawn male and a black female.

Can't go wrong with those dogs.

So. Highlands

M Resort, GV Ranch, SouthPoint

South Point new poker  room and sport book opens this summer.

Watch out for the traffic cops out on Blue Diamond and the I15 south of I15.

South point is the great.  Good food and place to play.  Diverse crowd around there and lots of good people.

But to answer your question fully: yes that area is safe and also easier on the pockets than say Summerlin, Green Valley, or Aliante.  The only thing I advise about this area are the roads itself.  Blue diamond can be a very dangerous area, lots of accidents around there.  Make sure you pay attention when driving out there - as like most of the Vegas Valley, the drivers generally are horrible.
