Read the form of course, but my best advice is to watch replays of previous races of the horses you like or favorites you don't. You see so much more on a replay than just a line on a piece of paper. Also, focus on the gallop out after the race, so important. Good luck and congrats on the superfecta.

Start out by making sure the horse you bet on has 4 legs ( just messing with you ) seriously it takes time to read and understand a racing form .Eventually thats a must . It is a horse players Bible for now you are gonna have to probably pick a track  and concentrate on trainers ,jockeys   try and find out when a certain trainer claims (buys ) a horse that has been with another Trainer how often does he do good with a horse he just claimed .  look and see how the horse ran time before    if in the form you see the horse ran  1,1,1,1 6th during the race  why that happen did he get tierd or was there a track bias that day most horses won from off the pace so now keep an eye on him for next time   There is  so much to look for but I can suggest follow a few guys on here as you learn but dont think because  one of us say 100 ,200 500 dollars on a horse  that we are gonna win for sure. Always bet what you can afford and if you lose dont start jumping track to track to try and get even
   GL  and have fun

horseplayernow.com has awesome information and webinars for "newbies."  Tuesday night seminars for no cost.  I highly recommend them.

Walk around the track and ask everybody who they like. Everytime they tell you a horse cross it off your form. Bet the last horse not crossed off.  When you win, go look for a Jennifer Tilly looking kinda chick take her to the Jockey Club and the great times will start.  Don't forget to go to local bar near the track and insult everyone there. It's good karma.
