#127 Posted: 3/22/2012 1:15:23 AM Walking Dead is smarter and better thought out than a lot of the drek that gets passed off nowadays. I think there is just enough action, and gore.
some people would rather 49 minutes of running and gunning. To those people, you should probably just rent one of the million zombie themed video games.
I was talking to one of my friends the other day about the recent explosion in Zombie and post-apocalyptic movies/television/and video games. And reality shows like doomsday preppers, the Bear Grills show (dont know the name), and a host of other survivalist themed programming, and we kind of got into a discussion about how our economic downturn has kind of fed into this explosion in the media. I remember back in the day when my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I would go to Blockbuster and look for new zombie movies. It seemed like once every other month a B movie would be released. Now it seems like every other day you are seeing new zombie flicks , with actual budgets, and named actors.

#130 Posted: 7/11/2012 7:19:56 PM I cant wait to see what happens with Andrea and that girl that realized to how evade zombies at the end of that last episode of season 2 by chaining dead ones to her
She's actually in all the comic books and I wont spoil anything but murl is going to come back season 3 and play a decent role...!!!!
Also the screen writer was fired towards the end of season 2 and therefore dale was actually killed off as a result because him and the executive producer didnt get along so the dale actor did not want to continue through season 3. The screen writer was fired because he wanted the show to go in a difference direction and create episodes that were not necessarily relevant to the storyline by making individual episodes about a specific character, however the producer didnt oblige there he fired the guy.
And in a way thats kind of why season 2 took place for a long time at the farm. It's kind of a drag actually because I'm not sure how many of you guys read the walking dead comics which are more gruesome, vulgar, and interesting (even though I love the show) the comic didnt spend that much time at the farm as the show dud obviously because of the now ex-screenwriters decision making.
We'll see what happens season 3 with rick, In the comic Rick is a much more dominant and stronged-willed charterer from the get go. In the show they had him kind of build that persona up.
Also the dale character in the show wasn't such a worthless darn in the comic book. He was actually a bad behind who didn't just sit on top of the RV all day holding a rifle and never firing it. He actually ending up screwing another character in the comic book. But hes dead in the show so that's all that matters.
Thank god for Daryl

#131 Posted: 7/13/2012 6:11:29 PM Is there another season starting up?
One thing is for sure, it had better include a lot more shotguns to zombie heads to keep my attention. The constant soap opera drama just doesn't fly for more than 10 minutes.
More Zombies locked in barn scenes please. |

If you don't want the drama go play a video game
You need dialogue in a good show.....

#133 Posted: 7/14/2012 2:33:56 AM okay.
Glorified Dawn Of The Dead buddy. The writing was excellent in the initial stages but as the series progressed it dwindled.
I'll root and continue to watch, but they have to incorporate drama/ flesh eaters with the same level of intensity. |
