#1 Posted: 11/1/2012 9:23:56 AM Been working on forming this. Who wants in? My plan is to boycott the NHL and the NHLPA if we can't get them to the negotiating table. |

#2 Posted: 11/1/2012 1:14:47 PM I am NOT going to subscribe to Center Ice this season IF there IS a season. I won't put a nickle of my own money into Gary Bettman's pocket.

regardless, i wont be purchasing center ice or paying for any tickets anytime soon. even if the season starts fans should watch the game at home or at a bar. dont pay for tickets. hit the league where it hurts.

#7 Posted: 11/1/2012 6:24:36 PM You can't boycott really... Because for every fan that want's to boycott, there are 100 that don't give a garbage about gambling and people who '' say they are fan's'' but aren't really... Because they just gamble and if their team isn't in the mix, they don't care....
I gamble and root for the team I gamble on.... People who '' LOVE'' THEIR HOME TEAM (so to speak) are not necessarily fans of the game.... ONLY of the team they root for..... Proof is in the pudding because how many time's do people in here state that they won't watch the '' stanley cup '' because THEIR team is not in it....
HOCKEY FANS ARE THE WORST OF THE BIG SPORTS... ONLY CARING ABOUT ''THEIR'' TEAM AND NOT THE LEAGUE ITSELF...................
So whatever you decide to do about there being NO Hockey, doesn't matter... Some may think it does by not subscribing or whatever...... Hockey is bigger than the individual even it can't rise to the level of the big 3 ........ |

#8 Posted: 11/2/2012 1:18:41 AM I couldn't care less about this league. They have no ambition, everything is done on a whim. Islanders moving to Brooklyn?? Why did they not plan this before they decided to make the arena NBA friendly.
Unfortunately, the players have absolutely no direction and have been spoiled their whole lives with others pulling them every which way. The logical thing to do would be to start their own league if they feel so slighted. There r no Trevor Lindens or Shanahans this time. The players just frankly aren't very business savy and their taking this far too personally. Their tweets are embarrassing to say the least. I know not all players are egomaniacs but face the truth. Most highly skilled athletes are type A personalities and extremely stubborn, that's how they get to that level of stardom, supreme confidence and drive.
I'll be back but only as a fan of the game as I've always been. If Ur not paying attention to every detail of the league and expect to beat the books on the NHL then Ur as gullible as these primadonnas. |

#9 Posted: 11/2/2012 8:59:28 AM Big plans for this. Maybe even forming a league with the best players in this fan's association. Throw these greedy people a curveball.
Ok Gary this is how it works.
Gary's 9 million salary comes from the owners, who have this revenue from fans like us. They obviously think we are a bunch of sheep who they take for granted, so let's stick it to them once and for all. And if there are other fan's associations, let's join forces and show these people who wields the REAL power! |

#11 Posted: 11/2/2012 11:44:54 PM "When the players quit trying to negotiate with billionaire business owners, over literally billions of dollars, with positions based solely on ***revenue projections***, I will consider Fehr a bit less of an unreasonable asshat than Bettman."
I like that quote. The players are fighting a fight they can't hope to win. Eventually, they'll stop banging on the walls like little girls and go grab their cold pizza. Life isn't fair but you do what needs to be done. |
