#1 Posted: 4/24/2012 3:59:31 PM do the Coyotes retain "home ice advantage" in the 2nd round as the 3rd seed in the West in the regular season (by winning the Pacific division) OR does that change to "most regular season points" ( Predators 104 vs Coyotes 97).
checked numerous site includin ESPN and the NHL website and could NOT find the information |

#4 Posted: 4/24/2012 4:06:13 PM Pretty sure the Yotes keep home ice. Only in the nba does the better record team get home court.

#5 Posted: 4/24/2012 4:06:53 PM well I guess we will have to wait for the schedule and see. it's goofy that at least the NHL website wouldn't spell it out. |

#7 Posted: 4/24/2012 4:09:31 PM I think it's because it's just assumed that the higher seeded team gets home ice no matter how many points they had during the season. The nba was the same way and changed it recently.

i dont have a reference for it but its been like that the last number of years....each team always holds on to their original seed and then the teams get re-seeded after every round |

#11 Posted: 4/24/2012 4:13:50 PM Vic I think LRR is just asking in terms of home ice. Matchup wise, it's 100% seeding.

#15 Posted: 4/24/2012 4:53:17 PM so I guess IF the Panthers (#3 East seed as Southeast division winner) were to close out the Devils AND both the Bruins and Rangers were to win their game 7's, then the East matchups would be #1 Rangers vs #5 Flyers and #2 Bruins vs #3 Panthers even though the Flyers have more regular season points than BOTH the B's and Cats
IF the Devils come back then I guess it's Rangers vs Devils and Bruins vs Flyers 2nd round with Bruins home ice |
