i wouldnt take the under both these teams in same division so they are very familiar with each other, not to mention last time out giants put up 7 earned runs on richard and he lasted 5 innings.  On top of that the giants bat .348 average off him and though vogelsong did have a bad outing last time on the mound i wouldnt expect a a stellar performance i think padres still put up at least 2 or 3 off him over is the way to go in my opinion.

I personally think it will go OVER based on trends . If you take a look at the matchup trends the Over seems to be favoured . Some of the trends include :

  • Over is 5-0 in Giants last 5 when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.
  • Over is 4-0 in Giants last 4 games with the total set at 6.5 or lower.
  • Over is 4-0-1 in Giants last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
  • Over is 4-0 in Giants last 4 vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Over is 4-0 in Giants last 4 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.
  • Over is 4-0 in Giants last 4 games following a win.
  • Over is 4-0 in Giants last 4 vs. National League West.
  • Over is 5-0 in Giants last 5 games vs. a left-handed starter.
  • Over is 5-0 in Giants last 5 games as a favorite.
  • Over is 3-0-1 in Giants last 4 during game 3 of a series.
  • Over is 4-0-1 in Giants last 5 games as a favorite of -110 to -150.
  • Over is 10-1 in Giants last 11 road games vs. a left-handed starter.
  • Over is 6-1 in Giants last 7 road games with the total set at 6.5 or lower.
  • Over is 6-1-1 in Giants last 8 games as a road favorite of -110 to -150.
  • Over is 12-3-1 in Giants last 16 overall.
  • Over is 12-3-1 in Giants last 16 on grass.
