1.) They are attempting to prevent a sweep at home vs Orioles.(balty hasn't swept them at Toronto in over 7 years)
2.) B.Matusz is perhaps the worst starting pitcher in baseball
3.)B.Matusz has never gotten past the 3rd inning vs Bluejays and has given up at least 4 ER in his past 10 games, getting to the 6th inning only once against oakland back in august last year.
Orioles are 12-40 in the last 52 meetings in Toronto.
Orioles are 22-47 in the last 69 meetings.
K.Drabek has only played 7innings against the Orioles but posted a respectable 3.86 ERA. This looks like a great spot for a Bluejays WIN. Especially at -160..... Am I missing something here?

Matusz def not worst SP in mlb. Lhp with his skill set are a shutout waiting to happen. Ur prob safe fading because he hasnt put it all together yet but you're playing with dynamite imo. GL

i like blue jays tomorrow. think that the scoring for both dips but drabek holds his own a lot better. i really like blue jays against the sweep but i might be careful and just play a small amount on the RL

To answer your question... the Blue Jays were -160 today and lost. It happens. Doesn't mean they won't beat the shit out of Baltimore tomorrow. Good luck, bro.

agreed. The line has no relation to the outcome of the final score.
at the end of the day its all comes down to whether or not the blue jays are gonna find their rhythm and start knockin' em out of the park with people on base. Lawrie could very well have cost us the game today.
the pitching is a sadder story however. alvarez was great. Corderro and Jansen were not as fortunate.

Now time to correct this guys post regarding Matusz, since he is using irrelevant data.
Matusz 2010 was stellar and he pitched the last 2 months of htat year as well as just about any pitcher in the league. During this year he was throwing 90-94 and his change was lights out, as it always had been.
2011... He did not come into camp in the best of shape. He then had an injury to his back/ribs, I believe, a muscle strain. The Orioles rushed him back before he was 100%. That led to a litany of issues. Add to the fact that the Orioles were now attempting to change his mechanics. Not only did they rush him back but they also ruined his mechanics which he had been using for just about his whole pitching life and had phenomenal success at every level and even showed that type of success durign the last 2 months of the 2010 year.
This caused Matusz to lose confidence and question the Orioles and what they were doing with him. He was now throwing 86-91 and rarely ever touched 90. As a result his offspeed pitches no longer had the speed differential they had previously. That allowed batters a much easier task at the plate. David Ortiz was even quoted as saying he couldnt believe how different Matusz was from the year before and he felt bad facing him because he was able to see the ball so well out of hand and that was not the case the year before with his other mechanics. He also did not have the control of all his pitches like he had been known for his entire pitching life.
Eventually Connors left the team midseason, in his first year, after all the young pitcher regressed substantially under his tutelage. This year Matusz came into camp in great shape and refocused/dedicated. He was back to throwing 90-94 and his secondaries were better.
During spring training he was the best pitcher in camp. In his first start he came out very amped and was overthrowing everything. This caused him to have little control and leave pitches up. His stuff however was very good, especially his secondaries. His nerves should be better in his second outing. All Matusz needs is to get into a groove and he will be very good.
Thats not saying the Orioles will win tomorrow, but you are selling Matusz extremely short and not realizing last year he was a completely different pitcher and not his true self. He is back to his old form and all he needs is to get into a groove to gain his confidence and swagger back.

Balty very much a live dog, and Tor equally a live baited trap
Agree. Balt 3 losses are to the NYY on the road, and two of those were extra inning losses started by CC and Nova who are pretty decent arms.
Toronto bats are nothing to get excited about either. For a -160 line, I would want more on my side than just a perceived weak starter for the opponent.
