relatively a 4th round pick?

I thought he would be worth at least a 3rd round

or at least thrown in a dozen gatorade coolers and 3 head sets...

something tell me his prayers were not answered ,with him ending up in N.Y. I believe Jacksonville would have suited him better.

I'm not sure who people are laughing at when they start threads like this about Tebow.

Are you making fun of Tebows ability?

He's a dude that had a great ncaa career ... now he's a nfl quarterback making pretty good money.

Not a bad life in my book.

What's Tebow actually worth ?
If you're the owner of a team, what do you think he's worth from a publicity/goodwill standpoint right now ?
I'm not sure you can put a price tag on it.
The Jaguars, in desperate need of some PR are the big losers here.

Getty,

I agree with you from a marketing standpoint... I am actually tebow fan as I love how he plays and how he actually changes the position and way the game is played...

But I think for him to be put up there with god/jesus like a prophet with the whole "tebowing" thing as if prayer has actually something to do with him is like Napoleon crowning himself emperor rather then the pope...

It is this lack of humility that negates alot of the positive message he brings...

I heard that tebow made the choice tho to go to NY... Which I think shows his need for the spot light (attention person)... he will never admit publicly that he turned his back on florida/jacksonville to be on a bigger stage... because it would be admitting that he actually prefers hype over substance...

tebow could have gone to jacksonville and been a franchise player...  They have a good RB in MJD... they also are in the rebuilding process where they could have made an offense tailor made for his strengths and started to surround him with players that could help him succeed...

All he needed to do was come home to a fan base that loves him...

But instead he choose to "take his talents to" the big apple

Tebow said he didn't have any say and Elway says that he did .. because the offers were pretty equal so they him decide. Who knows. Link

No sane person puts Tebow up there with God or Jesus. Are you kidding?

The "Tebowing" thing comes from him praying.

I don't understand any of that logic.

I agree it is not a bad life, but it is not a life I would want. The guy is mobbed everywhere he goes by both the good & bad, not something I would want.

I can understand why you would say this and I completely see where you are coming from.

This guy wants to touch lives though and probably enjoys the platform football is able to give him. This allows him to reach more people than almost any other profession he would have.

Now whether or not people want someone preaching religion to them when watching football is another discussion.

who is the coach in Jax? the offense? what skill position players do they have?

he likes Rex and he knows what kind of offense tony sparano will build and runs. NYJ was a much better fit for his talents than jacksonville

Well I guess some one is lying then because they can't both be right...

But it means two things...

If tebow had a choice then he chose NYJ... end of story...

If Elway had to choose, since neither of the team are in his division and are AFC teams there is no incentive to trade him to either team...

So the story has to be that Elway told JAX that NYJ was offering a 4th and 6th pick for Tebow and a 7th...

And basically all JAX had to do was say... how about a "3rd and 5th" or one 2nd round pick... or some cash... or a real player... Anything to trump the offer...

And JAX said... "Tebow is not worth it"...

Thus the topic of the thread "What Tebow is actually worth..."

Dont forget the Jets also had to pay $5 mil to the Broncos along with the draft picks.

Undoubtedly the worse football move made in the history of football. You dont give up 2 draft picks and $5 mil for a back up QB after you already signed your franchise QB to a 3 year deal.

The Jets can spin this anyway they want but the only reason they did this was to sell tickets and generate revenue. This in no way was a football move. And you dont create 2 offenses for both Sanchez and Tebow.

I remember hearing about the 5 mill and it was a stumbling block in the process... if NYJ picked up the payment of that then they probably got taken for....

I am not sure about the worst move in football history... has yet to be seen... but it certainly does not look good...

I also laugh at the idea of NYJ creating 2 offenses... they need to be able to run one successfully before they try to make a 2nd one...

So perhaps this was simply a publicity stunt to sell tickets...

there's a good chance that he'll be the starting quarterback before the season is over.

the guy went 7-4 last year on a team that started the season 1-4.

yeah, it was just a publicity stunt to sell tickets. it has nothing to do with football.

Actually that was the 1989 Yankees trading Jay Buhner for an
overrated Ken Phelps.

I actually hope this happens as I am huge fan of what tebow does between the lines...

I dont think NYJ has a problem with hype and selling tickets... but since I am not from there perhaps I am wrong..
