I'd bet that lebrons cavs with varejao, williams n jameson would beat this nuggets team with less effort then the mighty lakers.. N I'm sure Lebron wouldn't need to take 32+ shots in any of those games

But I'm sure it's just match ups huh??

Kobe hurts the team more than he helps it... He doesn't make players around him better and it's no coincidence that they played better when he was out...

he's CLUTCH no doubt about it but you shouldn't confuse that with being the best player..

Lebron is on another level compared to Kobe

Couldnt agree more. U can never be considered best when game is on line and u go sit in corner and let wade close out game.  Embarassing... I would respect lebron a lot more if he took 10 shots in a row and missed rather than just disapear.  Spoelstra must b able to see it in his eyes that he dont want it

if the lakers can flip bynum for dwight straight up in the offseason, i say they should do it!

bynum's immaturity is not what we need right now.

he was also mad because they didnt let him take the last shot to tie the game.

TOP 5 MOST IMMATURE PLAYER, DONT ASK FOR OTHER 4, LMFAO!

BYNUM COST LAL A WIN THAT IS FOR SURE.

Kobe and LeBron are both great players.

Don't mention Durant he is an overrated guy. He has no defensive game. No doubt he can score lights out, but so can Melo.

LeBron is physically gifted, Kobe is more skilled. No one can match Kobe Bryants footwork it is a joy to watch.

I would say James edges Kobe.

The Lakers lost right?  At home to the Nuggets?  Seems to me the best player in the league should be the difference in a game like that.  At least the 43 points looks good in the boxscore.

im a celtics fan so im not close to a kobe homer but the hate on this page for him is hilarious. hes arguably the second best 2 guard ever. all those years shaq "carried" him to titles shaq couldnt even be on the court at the end of gms bc he couldnt hit fts. If you ever want a good laugh look at the teams he was taking to the playoffs in a difficult west after shaq and before the most recent run. Hes far and away the best closer in his generation and one of the best ever. Lebrons a great athlete and his all around game is fantastic but he needs to take that next step before hes even in the convo with kobe. Another hilarious stat is steve nash has 2 mvps kobe 1. How is that possible?

Its obvious LeBron is a far more efficient basketball player than Kobe at this point in their careers. This coming from a Kobe fan and LeBron hater. I think KObe's record against LeBron is like 2-20?? j/k.

but would i rather have had kobe on the lakers or lebron on the lakers? i take kobe over lebron all damn day!

fock lebron!

Lebron is the best player in the league right now. Not sure how you can disagree with this when you look at his stats and his overall game; both defensively and offensively.

Kobe is a top 10 player but not top 5 any longer.  Lebron is clearly the best in the league and it's pretty much a consensus opinion that he is now.  Only the Lebron haters claim that he isn't.

#1 I know a lot about basketball.
#2 I was stating a FACT, Kobe is the #19 rated player all time in efficiency. Jordan is #1, Lebron is #2

You can look it up and there is NO way in debating that one. Period.

even JR smith can get 43 points once or more if he chucks up 26 jumpers a game. but can he get a FG% of more than 50%? NEVER.

Lebron is the best. he just isn't as flashy as kobe hitting stupid fade away jumpers even with an open teammate. I dont understand why people say kobe has basketball IQ. He is not a ballhog, he just have a high level of stupidity that is covered by his talent in scoring.

I'm biased.

I love the Lakers, so of course naturally I'd side with Kobe.  Until LeBron gets his ring, he'll forever be in the shadows of the Greats.  All LeBron has to do is win one and he'll solidify his legacy as being the most talented, gifted, freak of a beast to play the game.

All his haters will have to bite their tongue... just look at Alex Rodriguez... I never thought the day would come where his harshest critics would ever shut up.

Till that ring happens for LeBron, I'll gladly take an aging, over-rated, jump-shot missing Kobe to jack clutch shots to win ballgames for me.

When it comes down to it, it's all about winning right?

XLR8 misunderstood you there, efficiency ratings yes...but I am talking overall consideration of all time great, you have to admit, Kobe must be in the top 10....@nopnopac yea J.R. Smith can get it done once, Kobe has 83 40+ games (in postseason only ;)) 2nd only to Michael Jordan. Guys this discussion isn't to bring any player down, for example I disagree that Durant is overrated, he is an unbelievable talent at his age and potential is limitless. To say Kobe is overrated, LeBron sucks, Durant isn't good is just plain thin minded. Ibox24 has a very good comment and he is a Celtics fan...We need to appreciate that we get to watch such talents as these guys, not put one down because you like the other. They are all phenomenal. Lets make this easier, in no particular order top 5 players in the NBA at any position right now.

he had a bad % on shots taken in last 5 seconds of the game with his team either tied or losing this season...I am quite sure for his career he is quite up there in those shots compared to others...does anyone have exact numbers?

If winning championships is the only measure, then Bill Russell is the best player ever, followed by Sam Jones......sounds dumb huh?

But skill, Lebron is a better way better and will end up with more total points (the only category which Kobe has an edge in) by the end of his career.

My be all and end all stat is efficiency (if I had to choose only one).

Top 2 of all time: 1. MJ 2. Lebron...................19. Kobe

skills? lol more like athleticism especially only because he is younger. But "skills", ugh no. That's like saying Dwight Howard has the most "skills"
