Do they have another Cy Young winner waiting in the wings?

#27 Posted: 3/26/2012 1:43:39 PM key he's a free agent after this year. if they suck and he won't sign an extension you have to trade him then. Plus the Brewers don't have a TB farm system |

#31 Posted: 3/26/2012 11:13:23 PM omerta i've made my pick and i'm stickinh with it. You're really underestimating the loss of Fielder and overestimating the addition of Aramis Ramirez |

huh? I think we both agree on the Brew Crew. They'll suck.

#34 Posted: 3/27/2012 3:58:21 PM But Pack you do have the Cards winning 79 games and finishing second. Which I think is right on. They got lucky to sneek in last year and they won't get in this year even with another wild card. If they had a legit shot of repeating LaRussa would have stayed for the ride. |

#35 Posted: 3/27/2012 7:00:27 PM I think laRussa left for these reasons:
1. He really sounded bad during the "bullpen phone" controversy. he sounded senile.
2. I think he knew albert was gone. They'd spit in pujols face for 2 years. Paying everybody but him. Just my 2 cents. |

It wasn't the money that hosed the deal, it was the years. This Cardinal team has a chip on their shoulder, but to each his own and we shall see! |

Losing Fielder is no good reason to devastate a prime time pitching staff. Far easier to recover with pitching than without it. And if you don't have a TB type farm system, all the more reason.

#41 Posted: 4/10/2012 9:46:00 PM Cardinals can't without Pujols or La Russa!
They have more home runs than like 6 teams have RUNS
5-1 so far... Haven't been home yet |

No doubt, but I think the only thing to stop St. Louis was a sluggish start like 2007 |
