#4 Posted: 11/1/2012 1:21:04 AM He traded worthless pieces for a starting QB to be able to win, and at least a viable 3rd RB, better than he had before the trade. It was far from pointless. And I don't think your team's amazing at all, especially not compared to his. You've got decent names but vastly underperforming parts. I'd consider your lineup slightly above average, and since you traded all your depth any injury (which with T-rich, Bush, Harvin and Hernandez its more than possible) is going to completely cripple your season.
Side note, you've also only got 8 roster spots. Even in a 14 team league, this is 2 fewer spots than any league i've ever participated in. You only have 2 WR and no flex? That basically makes the talent pool 12 teams...you have 2 full rounds worth of talent that you don't have to worry about.
QB - Brady 3rd averaging 20.3 ppg, Cam 13th with 15.6 (advantage OP)
RB - Doug Martin 9th CJ2k 16th combined 22.8 ppg,Trich - 7th Bush 17th Combined 22.3 ppg (advantage, wash - Even assuming your statement that his trade is pointless, which in a normal league it isn't, b/c his flex is now stronger if he gets ANY production from Sjax at all)
WR - You both obviously have Harvin, and while the name if your WR1 is far more impressive, the actual scoring difference between Moore and Megatron is 0.6 points per week. Again, in a normal format, you'd need a 3rd, and his third, amendola had 48 points in basically 4 games and 1 quarter, still giving HIM a higher per game average than Megatron, and probably more than whoever you have remaining on your bench.
TE - Another great name, except hernandez has been healthy all of 3 weeks, with 25 points in 3 games, while his two TE are both available every week and giving him maybe 2 points worse than you when Hernanez is even healthy. With a limited bench who do you even play in weeks like 5 of the last 7 when he hasn't even been on the field, or this week where he's questionable.
To summarize, QB he's got you substantially, we'll call RBs a wash right now, despite the fact that reggie bush is on a massive downswing which means your entire backfield is relying on an often injured rookie, and despite Martin completely taking over the tampa job, and despite CJ2k getting 23 points in his first 5 contests, yet still being ahead of reggie bush in the RB rankings. WR we'll also call a wash, even though his 2 backup names likely taken between rounds 7 and 9 outperformed your first round pick. And well give you a slight edge at TE if hernanez can ever get on the field. All in all, head to head he's probably beat your team in at least 5 of 8 weeks. I know people are naive about their fantasy squads, but wake up dude. If his team isn't any good, then your team is meh at best...period.
The line about stones and glass houses applies here.
Also in a 14 team league:
Stafford, Foster, Ridley, AJ, Colston, Wayne, Witten, FredJax in the flex. See, nobody's impressed by your piddley behind squad. |
