My bet was placed hoping Garon would start but I obviously didn't expect the line to move 20 cents or I wouldve waited. I think the line movement is ridiculous but I also understand that Tampa plays a high risk/high reward style and playing their kind of game against the Staal brothers as well as Semin and Skinner probably make this game a very entertaining contest. Garon has very good numbers considering he plays with no defense in front of him....last year through 48 games, he posted a .901 Sv % with 1194 SA ....he faced 1194 fuckking shots  I like his experience tonight and I also like the fact that Carolina's special teams look like shitt because in a game like tonight, we will be seeing a few pp's. |

I made my wager expecting Mason to get the nod but, yes, it's always better to be betting against Nashville without Rinne in the net. I like Backstrom but I really like Minnesota as a whole unit and they are one of my sleeper teams this season to go deep in the playoffs |

I guess I shouldve done the math but when I saw 1194 shots faced through 48 games, it looked like a lot more on average. I'm surprised that Tampa only gave up an average of 25 shots per game with Garon in net....it always seems as if Tampa's goaltenders are getting peppered. In any case, a .901 Sv % isn't bad and I like Tampa's first two lines to put the puck in the net tonight. |

A b2b at the start of the season doesn't mean a whole lot especially when the first game was just down the road. If you think Detroit is "old," check out the Stars roster. While I'm not a fan of this year's Detroit team, Dallas is one team Detroit can skate out of the building. Detroit still has goal scorers, that isn't the issue. The issue with Detroit is their young defensemen but Dallas doesn't have the type of team that can create mismatches. |
