#1 Posted: 4/19/2011 4:28:02 PM I just feel that it is a good time to take some off the table and await the next move of the government on the sidelines.
Maybe a Pollyanna move but I feel I have little to lose and big upside.
Best of luck for all who choose to stay and play.

#2 Posted: 4/19/2011 4:47:01 PM Probably a smart move, nothing wrong with stepping back and seeing if there are any more developments, after a few weeks of not having any action you might get bored and jump back in the fray a little quicker than you would like. |

Yea man, i remember on college football saturdays going to the U of Maryland games and calling in my bets and getting busy signals for a few mins before finally getting thru..you would see guys at the pay phones with their rotation books out calling in bets or asking buddies scores from other games..those were the days for sure. |

I dont have a local and dont want one, it's too easy to get undisciplined with a local..i pretty much stick to sports betting, i go to Vegas once a year and will play the tables when im there, i only play horses 3 days a year..the triple crown races. I dont really have a regular hangout but i still get out sometimes..there is an off track betting/seafood restaurant that you might have heard of called the cracked claw, the Kentucky derby is coming up in May i believe, you should come up..it's in Urbana, about 10-15 mins past Gaithersburg, we go up there every year on Derby day, they have a good atmosphere there for the big races. |

#9 Posted: 4/20/2011 12:07:19 PM What up MD brothas! I'm up a bit north in Towson, huge Terps fan though. Got a ton of buddies who go to UMD.
I like these stories. I don't have the tenure/years of memories you guys have (I'm in college right now). My betting experience with capping has been entirely online. And I just got a smartphone...never a click or two away from placing a wager or seeing how my current ones are faring. God bless technology.
And yeah I agree with you Jason, I'm gonna request a cashout next week. I don't want any kind of significant balance in my account. Gotta prepare for the worst. I'd rather lose a small amount if the books went under as opposed to the whole bankroll. |

#12 Posted: 4/21/2011 7:18:43 AM I'll be staying and playing but only keeping small amounts in my accounts. Most of the online books would close up shop if they lost the American players. That's why I think they'll find a way around the Govt. bullshit that's trying to put them out of the American account business. |

I dont even know any bookies anymore, i used to know one that was always in the bar at the Houstons restaurant on Rockville Pike, but the Houstons people and their landlord had a big dispute and they ended up closing up so i dont know where he is at. What im about to say is not politically correct, but then again i dont give a darn..im guessing by your writing style that you are not white, am i right? i've never known a bookie that does business with blacks or hispanics, i've always heard they have too much trouble getting paid by them..maybe it's not the right thing, i dont know and dont care, but it is what it is..good luck with finding a book that suits your needs. |

Yo Jason!
Its all good man! im actually hlf blk half hispanic so i guess i get no action!!! LMAO! I have heard that too! I think the book needs to get info from the dude they dealing with everything from name phone numbers addresses and maybe even someone that can vouch for them! I had a dude few years back i meant at montgomery mall lost $1200 in one week paid him then won it back +800 and could find him to get my money!!! Still remember that little guy and if i ever see him there will be a problem! Thats the problem with locals you have to make sure there on the up and up! Online you have to worry about sending and receiving money quickly. Its all a friggin game. I wish i could drive to Vegas and just place my bets!!! Oh well thanks for the chatter! Keep in touch! You hear anything let me know! |
