#1 Posted: 3/6/2012 3:44:16 PM That the "bounty system" was leaked this offseason for the Saints. Let me start off by saying I'm a conspiracy theorist. The reason why I say it is ironic that some how the bounty system has been exposed is due to the fact that if you look who is hosting the Superbowl in the upcoming season it is the New Orleans Saints. You might say so what but has a team who's home stadium is the host of the SB ever made it to the big game that year NO!! Before the Peyton Manning surgery became public, in a thread I said the Colts wouldnt make the playoffs (reason being they hosted the SB). One week later, surprise it is reported Manning has neck surgery.
A lot of people will read this and say I'm a dumb behind but why hasn't a team gotten to the SB the year they hosted? Well if they are a shitty team I understand but a solid team like the Colts and the Saints have built in excuses for not making the SB. Why didn't the league come with this info last year? Well they wanted to wait for this offseason. Why does the league not want a team hosting the SB to get their that season? Think about it. They want the site to be neutral so no team has an advantage. Just wait til next year when the Giants/Jets stadium hosts the SB. I will almost bet "something" will happen to those teams that will negatively affect their seasons.
The reason why I am writing this is to find out if their are anybody else who thinks as crazy as me. Yes I believe sports are fixed in some way and yes I still bet on sports. I rarely girl after I get screwed by the refs (it is normal to vent sometimes). Anyone else think the timing of the bounty findings is ironic?

#2 Posted: 3/6/2012 5:57:18 PM Interesting read, bud. Cleveland should host as many SBs by the league in that Browns have never played one and prolly won't for sometime. |

If you think about a team playing in the SB that plays in the same stadium, it would be such an unfair advantage to the other team. Just think things are too strange to happen like it has with the Colts last season and now the Saints development.

#4 Posted: 3/6/2012 6:07:51 PM Yes quite interesting, but i think the main reason, is no matter how good a team is, it's tough to make the Super bowl. So it's gonna be pretty rare that the team hosting the Superbowl is gonna wind up making it. I don;t think they needed Bounty hunting to prevent the Saints from making the Super. But my question is. Sports and our society is so WHACKED. You hear all the time if a player is playing with an injury, then the defense is gonna attack that injury, for example if it's known Arian foster has a bad knee, then the opposing tem will go after that knee to get him out the game. With that being said, how is that any different than the bounty system? Now bounty system would be repulsive if it meant take out a player at all costs, but it's not. |

#5 Posted: 3/6/2012 7:24:59 PM I agree that is is hard to get to the big dance.
I think that the coach (williams) heading the bounty system is the reason the league official are in a up roar. A higher authority must not condone such behavior (at least the league sees it that way). This has to do with the league covering their fools against future lawsuits against them. The NFL is more than a game its a giant business. They face so many lawsuits from former players each year. That is why they have made so many rules to protect the players in reality they are protecting themselves from future lawsuits

#6 Posted: 3/6/2012 8:10:03 PM No one gives a garbage about a bounty. Its not like it hasnt happened before. If anything this is geared towards expanding the season to 18 games. |

I coud give a garbage less about this bounty, but they way they are talking about it every 2 seconds, they will end up making a big deal out of this garbage. ESPN can make anything as important as they want to make it |

#10 Posted: 3/7/2012 9:39:31 AM I agree 100 % with the OP, If the home team makes it to the Super Bowl less people have to book hotel rooms, Less people have to book airplane tickets to get to the venue, Less people spend money at the location since it technically is just another home game for them. Whereas fans of neutral teams have to spend money on hotel accommodation, flight tickets, local bars etc etc. There is a lot more money to be made with 2 neutral teams going to the Super Bowl, Then having the home team play.
Also with 2 neutral teams going you have 3 teams fans spending there money during Super Bowl week, The local fans want to mix it with the other team fans during that week as well. |

#12 Posted: 3/7/2012 10:47:51 AM The hawk. Ya that happened way back in the early 80's before the NFL became a powerhouse. I doubt it will happen from here on out. |

SB tickets are not like regular season tix. There would still be PLENTY of fans from both teams. Stop drinking the kool aid.
And the Saints wouldn't even be the favorite anyway. They had some serious off season losses and Brees isn't even happy. Throw in the Packers.....Bears.....Giants......Eagles......Niners......they might not even make the playoffs. |

#15 Posted: 3/22/2012 2:21:21 PM Saints might not be the favorite but the league doesn't want ANY chance of the Saints getting to the Superbowl this season.
They won't make the playoffs now without Payton. |

#16 Posted: 3/22/2012 3:48:24 PM IgetMoney, I enjoyed this sentence even more than your speculation about the home teams not getting to play in the superbowl.
Yes I believe sports are fixed in some way and yes I still bet on sports.
It just goes to show what a messed up oligarchy we truly are now. The Mayan shift is beginning now and I feel it so hold onto your sports tickets. A new age is coming.
