these guys are professional athletes. their bodies are not like your normal human being they train, lift weights, have specialist etc etc.
the starters play a total of around 1 hour or less running up and down the court. and its not even sprinting most of the time
its a proven fact and also you hear the announcers even talk about it; but b2b have a lot to do with did other team have rest; did the b2b team have to travel across the country; doing a b2b in la is no big deal; also in this compressed schedule teams are not getting 2 days off on a b2b they get one day off; these people are not machines and motivation has a TON to do wih how well these guys play; remember most of the players are playing 37 minutes plus; its a handicapping tool that has been used for a long behind time and it certainly comes to use this season; I constantly look for spots where teams have been playing 4 out 5 and then play a rested team and play the rested team in the 1st qtr and half and 90% of the time the rested team comes out fresh and you can tell. Early in the season its not as relevant but why do you think Pop held out Duncan and Parker. TO GET REST; they got blown out by Portland but then won the next game big because of that rest. |
