I'll take Vandy vs any MAC team on the road no less. At least Vandy has academic integrity. What other SEC school can say that?

I agree...
Vandy should be more impressive this year with Franklin coaching there. Even their recruiting class has picked up.
The bad thing for them is their schedule right out the gate with SC with QB Shaw and RB Marcus Lattimore. NW could be a dog fight as well, with a win coming against Presbyterian.
If Vandy can come up against Georgia in game 4 at 3-0 they will be fired up because they nearly beat Georgia last year 33-28.
Then they can rest and heal the brusies before their next 3 SEC teams back to back Missouri, Florida, Auburn...
Then an easy win with UMass for their homecoming.
Then 3 more back to back SEC teams Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee.
Finish the regular season with Wake Forrest.
Last year they were 6-6 i believe they do better by a game.
#6 games or at home, SC, Presbyterian, Florida, Auburn, UMass, Tennessee, thats why i give them an extra game because they could very well win more then 2 of them home games.
Check this out after Alabama beat them last year 34-0.
Something came over the team and if they start out like they finished smart money will take Vandy and good points against any team on their 2012 schedule pending injurys.
Year 2011 after the Alabama game...
Georgia 33-28 >> lost
Army 44-21 >> won
Arkansas 31-28 >> lost
Florida 26-21 >> lost
Kentucky 38-8 >> won
Tennessee 27- 21 >> lost in overtime
Wake Forest 41-7 >> won
Bowl game
Cincinnati 31-24 >> lost

I like it as long as it is conference champions. A 2nd place team should not be allowed to be in it.
I have no problem with "wild card teams" being in BUT only if all division winners get a chance. A wild card team did not win the conference. It is not the fault of other conferences if they have a down year.
But I am glad they are getting a playoff. I think 8 teams or 16 teams would be much better but at least this is a start.

You take the team that won the conference or the conference title game...depending on how they decide to call the conference champion.

No it is not. Alabama did not win anything. Winners play for the championship. You cannot take it out on every other team that wins what they are supposed to win.
