1st Mario Williams -

Will someone please tell me why Houston let this guy leave?

I know he had a few injuries but this guy is a tremendous player.

Maybe they know something we don't..

2nd Marshall,

Here is another move that has me scratching my head.

This guy is not the best WR clearly - but he is by far and away better than anyone on the team.

To think you would replace him with Ocho Stinko does not really make sense to me. You would think they would keep him and perhaps add Ocho to maybe help out, its not like they are loaded at WR and its not Marshall's fault their is no talent at QB.

I'll chime in a little.

Regarding Mario Williams, they weren't going to offer him his asking price in free agency. Besides, that defense under Wade Phillips was a beast without him. So that made sense to let him walk and use that money to resign other players.

Brandon Marshall is a prima donna and with his legal issues wasn't worth it.

as for williams, he's been out a lot the past two seasons.  his games played are going in the wrong direction.  a lot of players can be good even if it doesn't show up in the stats.  DE is one position where stats mean a lot.  when you'rte a pass rusher, you need to hurry and sack the qb.  williams sack numbers aren't as good as the money he's asking for.  finally, like kickin said, williams is a DE not an OLB.  he is better suited for buffalo's defense, not houston's.

houston will be fine.  they have a very good team.  they don't need to tie up all of their money up in a possibly injured DE with very good but not great numbers who'd be playing partially out of position.

as for marshall, he has incredible talent but when someone that good is on his 3rd team in 7 seasons, there's obviously some other issues.

Thanks guys for your input. I agree Marshall is a Diva but does that not make him right at home in Miami?

Yes Houston is going to be great this year and their D is solid like a Rock! But its very hard to find above average pass rushers and he would provide nice depth. Buffalo certainly is happy they let him go that I can assure you.

Mario is from my home town and i know him personally...but anyway kickn A is right houston wasn't gonna pay him what he deserved bc when he got hurt the d didn't miss a beat. That's not saying he isn't good it's just saying the team could get by with the younger talent paying them less money than a mario williams. But yes he is a beast at 6"7 290, brady better beware!

i'm not saying mario wasn't a good pickup by the bills.  i wish we could bring back old threads as much nonsense as people say around here but i was one of the few that liked the mario williams pick when every moron on tv (and most people in here) said passing on bush was worse than portland taking bowie over jordan.

it's risky at that price, but if he's healthy and in the bills 4-3 defense, he could be worth every penny.  and then a lot of times you see a player improve with a change of scenery.  i just hope he doesn't get complacent now that he has that big contract.

Either the Bucs or Dolphins will be the worst team in the 2012 season and will get the #1 pick in 2013 for QB Matt Barkley.

Colts will go no better than 2-14

DU4Life,

Couldn't quote your post #6, but man that was a great defense back then. Along with Bruce, there was Darryl, Cornelius, and Mark at FS. Even Bryce to a smaller extent. That was such a solid defense.

The Bills overpaid for Mario Williams.  He is a good player but no where near what his contract would indicate.

It seems to me that most Free Agents are overpaid..For whatever reason one team wont pay them so another team does the honors and then some. Of course I am a Redskins fan so I know all about overpaid Free-Agents
