He really didn't have a ton of weapons to work with. I ask this question: Can you name one other person on that offense without looking it up?

luck had nothing... nobody... zero... i watched a bunch of games... esp the oregon and usc games. it was a D2 team out there.

Carson Palmer? Maybe,  Not Matt Lienhart, Not Leaf, Only one comes to mind is Elway, Noway this kid is even close to the moxy elway had..

My issue with Andrew Luck is I dont see real leadership, I see a California surfer boy.

I dont see that field general, I see that in RG3 but not in Luck.

That's ironic since he didn't grow up in California.

Luck must be worth the pick... Why else would the Colts completely TANK thier entire season and get rid of a 1st ballot HOF QB who already won them a SB and took them to another...???

It would be funny if the Colts took RG3 with the 1st pick.

D2 team?

Luck had 2  NFL caliber Tight Ends.  At least 2 guys on the O Line that are going to be 1st or 2nd round draft picks.  And he had a very nice college RB in Taylor.  He lost a WR or two to injury, but he still had average college WRs.

All I'm saying is last year at this time Carolina had #1 pick and took Cam Newton, everyone said he was a 3 year quarterback project couldnt throw in the pocket, Carolina had no weapons on offenisive side of the bar, Steve Smith? past his prime, Stewart or Williams, and a  suspect offensive line? You put Cam Newton with stanfords team, they easily beat Lsu or Bama for national championship,  Cam Newton is a once a lifetime Quaterback, why he won a national championship, and a Heisman. He gets a defense, I could see them beating down the NfC south for the next 6 years, Andrew Luck wont put half the numbers up Cam did last year, with pretty much the same team Cam had last year, if he makes it the complete season, which i rather doubt.
I like Andrew Luck, but when all the experts say this is the best thing since slice bread, I gotta go the other way... Love to see the colts take rg3, Washington would have garbage all over there face again.

I can't believe the number of idiots who just make up an idea and post it.

His teammates think differently:

He's intense. He's a leader in the huddle. He's great to have in practice. He's a humble guy, but at the same time he's an extreme competitor. His leadership in games and in practice is huge, huge for this team.

Because he works the hardest. He excels when he needs to excel. When the pressure is on him, when the pressure is on our team, there's no better leader than Andrew. He's the guy you want to go into battle with. You know he's going to do his job, and you know he's going to get the win for you.

Yeah, he sure appears to lack leadership skills.

Again stop saying he had no weapons and no receivers.

The number 1 tight end  coming out this year is CODY FLEENER.....

THE NUMBER 1 TIGHT END IN COLLEGE doesnt count as a weapon?

Get real.  That is more important than how you carry yourself on the field?  TO called Garcia "happy" and that created all sorts of off the field B.S.  No one has called Luck happy nor have they made a SINGLE negative comment about him.

If it's how you carry yourself outside the game, why did you post this?  Idiot.

I dont see that field general

First you say he's not a leader off the field and then you say he's not that "field general."  How do you know he's not a leader off the field?

You also said he's not a good "field general."  Clearly, the people ON HIS TEAM say he is.  You now better than them?  Sorry if it hurts your feelings for me to point out that your take is terrible.

I'll take Jim Harbaugh's opinion over yours.

"Ever play Spades?'' Harbaugh said, in response to a question about Luck's strengths. "It's a trump game. He's holding a lot of aces in a lot of suits. He's got all the qualities, and is mentally and physically as prepared as anyone you're going to find. That's my opinion. And he's really good. How about that one?''

Harbaugh, in typical quirky form, sensed that reporters wanted more. Maybe because we kept asking essentially the same question in different forms.

"He's one of the finest football players I've ever been around. Is that good enough?'' Harbaugh said. "And an even better person. One of the top five guys I've ever been around. A joy to coach. Not going to like playing against him. Not looking forward to that.''

My feelings werent hurt, Your choice of words to describe my opinion were off base.

When you call people stupid names who post an opinion, you are destroying any chance of dialog in the forum, It reeks of a childish tantrum, and it shows true cowardism as you wouldnt say such things in someones face in the real world, You would simply disagree.

As for Andrew Luck, Well

Time will tell

andrew luck wouldve been the #1 pick in 2011, and he wouldve threw for a good 3700 yards and 24 TD. not sure if he wouldve been rookie of the year, but he wouldve had a solid year in my opinion.

When you see the job Harbaugh did with Alex Smith, you would think he'd know a little bit about quarterbacking, befing a former NFLer himself.

Mel Kiper has him going #1

Todd McShay has him going #1

His coach often LET HIM CALL HIS OWN PLAYS-not that he's a field general or anything...........
