OK This pick worries me a little bit never heard of the guy David Wilson. We need a running back no doubt but he seems kinda small especially when comparing to Jacobs. I was thinking maybe Lamicheal James but i was reading he would fit more of a NO type of offense not Giants. I was thinking they would take the offensive lineman from Michigan St to protect Eli.
I figured they could of gotten this guy in the second round but hey How can i argue with Jerry Reese picks in the past. Any thoughts from Giants fans even from non Giants fans all opinions welcome

Wilson is a beast. Tough runner....should be a great fit for the Giants. Very football savvy selection

I watched the you tube video doesnt seem bad. I just figured we would draft a back in the second round maybe third. Allot of people are asking  why we didnt draft Lamichael James. Not sure maybe he didnt the system as well. I was reading this guy was the second best back in the draft to allot of people. But I never heard of him before. I think they might use him as a punt returner also. I think Cleveland gave up allot for Richardson I hope he is worth it and the quaterback they took on a 22 pick????? no wonder some teams
stay as seller dwellers but who am I to say i am not a GM.
Giants are notorious for draft good backs just not first round ones lol.I thought maybe an offensive lineman first because Kareem Mckinzie was horrible in the playoffs last year San Fran used him like  a cheap cigarette. Plus our line is not getting any younger. Dallas and Eagles seem to have good drafts so far not good for us.
We did lose allot to FA this year most of the players we didnt plan to keep but i wish we would have kept Manningham he knew system and was a good third receiver to have. But Giants never seem to spend big money on FA or most of their players Osi wants a big contract Giants wont give it to him he is up in age and they got the best years out of him tough business. I thought maybe tight end also since Ballard messed up his knee pretty bad but was very serviceable for us so I am thinking Giants think he will rehab and be back for next year. I will post when the second pick come aboard hopefully there is a good pick left that fits out needs. Is it too much to ask for a third superbowl  win within the next three years lol.
Good Luck on your teams picks.

Lets hope I saw some video on the guy Tampa picked ahead of the giants they traded up for from Boisi State Martin wow now i see way he seems more of a complete back. I think the Giants would have taken him but I am sure they did want t trade up to do it and I am sure Tampa kinda stunned the Giants by doing it and took this back which was left s we will see how he turns out.

I trust Jerry Reese, he draft on the philosophy of best talent available.I guess the coaching staff isn't comfortable with Scott/Ware backing up Bradshaw and to be honest, neither would I. The Giants don't need a bruiser anymore, the offense is in Eli's hands now as opposed to the days of grounding and pounding. I like the pick, not overly thrilled, but none the less content with it.

Most mocks have LaMichael James as a late 2nd or early 3rd. He is not an every down back and not a back thats going to pound it between the tackles. Even though Wilson isnt a pounder either he is more adapt to run between the tackles then James is. There are alot of questions with James regarding his ball security, his durability and also his character. He was arrested in 2010 for a domestic with his then girlfriend. When you add all these up he was defintily not a first rounder. The Gmen made a solid pick with Wilson.

Jerry Reese said that Wilson was the #2 ranked back on their board ahead of Martin, so this wasn't a reach whatsoever

For those of you worried about whether Wilson can run inside, he led the NCAA in yards after contact for a running back (even more than Richardson) and is also a character guy who was known to be a leader in the locker room.  Love the pick
