I know it's only April, but I was wondering your thoughts on this game.  Bottom line, flat-out, no beating around the bush - Michigan was the benefactor of a very soft schedule last year.  Period.  Bama is Bama, and they should roll right over this Michigan team.  To see Michigan ranked in people's Top 15 is absurd.  I understand, people WANT Michigan to be good, and they will be in a few years, but most defenses with a pulse make Denard look awful.  Bama's defense has a pulse, I think this game will be a season-long, black-eye for the BigTen.

Alabama will continue to be the most talented team in college football, and after wrapping up their 4th #1 ranked recruiting class in the past 5 seasons, the gap between Alabama and the rest of college football is widening, not shrinking.  The amount of talent Saban has amassed on the Alabama roster is simply mindboggling.  In other words, Alabama will out-talent every single team they face in 2012/13 including LSU.  Does that mean they will win every single game?  Not necessarily.

Offensively Alabama may field their best offensive team in school history.  With basically everyone coming back from the best offensive line in college football in 2011, Alabama will easily have the best offensive line in the country again.  They will also have the best RB corps in the country with LSU being the only team that could have an argument.

Moreover, McCarron, in his second season, will have a bigger, stronger, faster and more athletic group of receivers to throw to.  Playing behind that offensive line should be conducive to McCarron having a monster season, and I wouldn't be shocked if his name is mentioned in some Heisman discussions.  Right now it's hard to see Alabama doing much punting in 2012.

With Alabama losing the bulk of their defense from last season, the questions about the 2012 team arise on the defensive side of the ball.  As I said above, the one proplem they won't have is talent.  The amount of talent they have accumulated on the defensive side of the ball should be illegal.  Thus, there will be no drop-off in talent from last season.  If anything there may be a slight talent upgrade, and that's a scary thought indeed.

The big question for the 2012 defense unit will be leadership.  If they can come close to replacing the leadership that Mark Barron and Donte Hightower provided to the 2011 defense last season, they will have the potential to be one of the top defenses in the country again.

Alabama also will welcome the top high school place kicker (Adam Griffith) in the nation to their roster in 2012.  People that I've spoke to who are knowledgeable about place kicking believe he'll be Alabama's starting place kicker in the Michigan game.

Several people in this thread have correctly pointed out Alabama's biggest obstacle which is their schedule.  Some national pundits have deemed it the toughest schedule in the country, although I'm not ready to buy into that before I've seen anyone play a snap.

Alabama's biggest obstacle will again be LSU who will have 2 weeks to prepare for their "Game of the Century III" rematch.  Having an extra week to rest, heal and prepare will be a gigantic advantage for LSU.  The only thing Alabama can take some comfort in is that the visiting team usually finds a way to squeek out a win in this rivalry.

I think 2012 will be pretty much a repeat of 2011 in that Alabama and LSU will continue their run of being the best two teams in the country.  Just as I gave Alabama the edge this past season because of their homefield advantage, so will I have to give the edge to LSU next season for catching Alabama at home with an extra week to prepare.

While Bamas offense will be good, saying it is the best in the schools history as you know really isn't saying much.. Bama has never really had a big time offense in many years, that just isn't their style.

Saban owns Meyer

Meyer won a National Championship going through which coach in 2008? To say he owns him is a hell of a stretch to say the least

Remember this also: NEW QB

Plus they have lost a key part of their defensive staff losing their secondary coach, is it not what everybody bragged about was LSU's secondary last year.

Yea because the same exact teams are coming back on both sides right?

You just made the same comment a dumb behind girl made the other day about not worrying about LSU next year. There is no more Jefferson to be the worst QB in history that can't move the ball against UGA's defense. Jefferson was so awful, it made Bama fans claim they had the best defense of all time after the NCG. THAT BAD and he was the worst player in the ENTIRE combine.

I'm a Bama fan, but some of posters on here have some crimson colored glasses. I agree with jimmy the winner of the Bama/LSU game will play in the BCSNCG and if USC can avoid injuries, they'll be playing in Miami next year.

While I think some Bama fan's on here ar a little too bias, Bama will be good. Our biggest weakness (IMO) is depth at the OLB position.

I think Bama destoys Michigan. I'm sure most of you watched the Sugar bowl last year and agree Vtech played a much better game than Michigan. I think Robinson we'll have an awful game vs Bama. Bama will confuse the garbage oout of him and Michigan wont be able to stop the power run or play-action of Bama's O. Bama wins 34-10.

I think UGA is a little overated preseason too...they seem to be having a bunch of player problems early like they have in years past. Anyway my early top 5:

1. Bama

2. USC

3. LSU

4. Oklahoma

5. Oregon

I think FSU wins the ACC btw...anyway, Roll Tide

i believe the bcs champ will either be lsu, usc, bama, or georgia. dont think the other teams have much of a chance

ou is chokelahoma? fsu has 1 of the most amazing best defenses in the country that might give up less than 2 tds a game, but the offense is not that good and id ont think their qb passing is very good he need to run more, so ie if they play bama or lsu in national title imo fsu would get crushed so dont se any point in playing them in futures

seems likes usc vs lsu bama winner is most likely bcs title game, unless georgia plays spoiler since THEY HAVE THE eASIEST SEC SCHEDULE IN HISTORY OF FOOTBALL

im suprised you have tcu a top 25 team lol that sounds ridiculous to me, the rest seem ok except oregon, i know some people up there that know stuff about that program and they talented, but usc should beat able to handle them this year, and they kids are kind of fucked up there on the team, im sure alot of teams smoke dope but its oregon so they kids are blazed at practice

if ohio should happen to sneak past PSU, they have a legit shot of running the table. perhaps the best chance to have the best record of the 'other' conferences.

TCU is not a top 10 team...they just joined the Big XII and they are going to have their hands full with Texas, OU, Ok St, and W Virginia...i think TCU could lose all 4 of those games...

Blazing at Practice ... sounds like my High school days

TCU will have plenty for the schools in the BIG 12...The schedule is brutal but right now I have them 10-2

If schedule is why you have UGA in Top 10.. how come you have UM then?  vs Bama, @ND night game, @Neb night game, @OSU last game of season for Buckeyes + MSU, Iowa, Air Force..

Could easily be 8-4..
