2012 Season:1-0  +5.00 units

1 unit = $500

1. BLUE JAYS TEAM TOTAL OVER  5  +110   4 units to win 4.4 UNITS

BRIAN MATUSZ has had 3 career starts vs. Toronto … and he’s been horrible in all of them.  In those 3 games he’s managed to compile an ERA of 18.56 lasting a combined 5.1 innings pitched and allowing 14 hits with a WHIP of 3.38 and a Blue Jays batting average of 5.19.  In his only start at Rogers Centre he managed to last 2.2 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits.

Look at these numbers for these Blue Jays against Matusz:

Jose Bautista  .333

Rajai Davis  .300

Edwin Encarnacion  .500

Adam Lind 1.000

Yunel Escobar  .333

This guy is not a good pitcher and the Jays have owned him.  Expect Toronto’s sticks to make some noise early. I doubt this guy goes more than 5 IP in this game and by that time the Jays should have reached their team total.

I see plus money on the game total but I am willing to lay the juice on the Jays team total because I think Drabek can keep the O’s in check today and allow the Jays to salvage 1 of these 3 games.  He kept the Red Sox in check in his last start (7-3 Jays win).  I see most of the scoring coming for Toronto in this game and given that the Jays have had great success against Matusz, I will back them to go over their team total.

2. Mets vs. Phillies over 7   -120  2.4 units to win 2

3. Phillies team total over 4 -115  2.3 units to win 2

Pelfrey for the Mets.  He’s had 19 starts against the Phillies and sports a lifetime ERA of 5.37 against them and has some poor numbers against many of the Philly starters today.

He’s had 8 Starts at Citizens Bank Park compiling an ERA of 8.60 ERA in those 8 starts.  He is a notoriously slow starter with an ERA over 5 in the month of April and does poorly in daytime starts sporting a carer 5.51 ERA in day games.

The Phillies go with Cole Hamels who started this season giving up 4 ER in 5 IP.  He sports a career ERA of 4.46 vs the METS.

The Phillies get a good chance to get their bats moving in this one and the game should go over 7.

The Phillies have scored 0 and 2 runs respectively in the first two games of this series.  However, historically, they have batted well against the Mets at home.  Going back, I note that they averaged 6.33 runs scored in the prior 9 home meetings against the Mets.

4. Chicago White Sox Team Total over 4 -110   2.2 units to win 2

Rick Porcello goes for the Tigers today and he’s fared poorly vs. the White Sox in his career posting an ERA of 6.91 in 7 career starts against them.  In 3 starts at US Cellular Field he’s sported an ERA of 6.88.   This is the type of pitcher that the Sox need to face right now to wake up their bats.

5. Cubs Team Total over 3.5 +112  2 units  to win 2.24

Westbrook and his 5.40 career ERA (5 starts) vs. the Cards intrigues me.  Good spot for the Cubs bats to get some decent numbers and push some runs across home plate.

like your writeup, BUT Bautista is 1-3, Davis 3-10, Encarnacion 1-2, Lind 1-3 and Escobar 2-2, thats 1 game stats!

And they got him good!  This chunp hasn't been able to get beyond 3 innings vs. the Jays ... Ever. I'm actually giving him 5 innings today.

Gl...any side plays? Can't play team totals with my book..it's wierd bc it offers prop bets such as first team to score, hit a home run, first inning run etc..

I'm from philly so with the phils being my team I try to avoid betting them especially with the line up we are putting out there right now..and I prefer to bet phils wen they are on the road with better odds...how is the jays line up other then bautista? I see ben Francisco is their dh...that's pretty weak...

garbage ... I was close ... he went 5.2 but more importantly the play of the day team total has gone over.
