My thing is time rent a car n get there and back asasp

 

I dont want an all day affair....

I dont think its that great but I am not big into sight seeing.. Its a damn with a bridge over.. sure, its cool.. some one built this thing.. I get it.. It looks the same as it does in the picture.. You can catch a tour bus out there too..

thanks guys.......

 

so torn up about it..

I saw it when I was like 10 and thought it was awful. The wife wants to go and I keep thinking maybe im old enough to get it now but half a day off the strip of a 3 day trip seems dumb.

Its not that far from the Strip and the new bridge is a pretty impressive structure also. My 2 cents would be yeah it is worth a 1/2 day.

I would never rent a car just to go see it and especially not if I only had 3 days in Vegas. I enjoy seeing it and when I drive over it, but I found it boring when I actually went to visit it years ago, and after a few pictures I was done.

If the wife wants to go you probably should go. It'll take 2 or 3 hrs out of the day if you go there just to take some pictures. I'd pass on the tour if I was you.

indeed, with the addition of the new bridge its a must see,,for me I left early was at the bridge by 9 am and then took the hour and half drive down to laughlin for lunch then back to vegas- fantastic day trip (lunch at the crab shack at the golden nugget in laughlin was spot on)

I'm not sure if there are chopper rides only to the dam, it is usually part of the wider Grand Canyon tour which sets you back around $350 per person

Actually closer to $400 per person but its been a while since I did that. Not cheap but well worth to do in your lifetime
