It's commonplace all over the world, Japanese baseball teams have corporate names, NASCAR is a boring 4hr commercial, F-1 drivers are walking billboards, Soccer uniforms, Euro/Swiss league hockey....list goes on. North American team sports are behind the curve. Not saying I approve but it's coming for sure.

Hawk....Clippers/SuperCuts good one. Toyota good one as well.

biggest jersey sponsorship deal in the world is FC Barcelona,a 5 year deal worth $235 million with Qatar Foundation

Up until a few years ago Barcelona were probably the only major soccer team in Europe who didn't have a shirt sponsor and swore they'd never tarnish their famous blue and red stripes with a corporate logo. But financial difficulties forced them to change their minds

Only a matter of time before you see US sports teams with logos on their jerseys

hockey is already trying to desensitize fans by putting numbers on the front of all the players helmets.... mark my words in 5 years their are corp sponsors where those numbers are.

Don't really see a problem with this.  If a company wants to pay enough money so be it.  As long as advertisments on the actual court aren't allowed I'm fine with it.

Should have been done years ago. The advertisement possibilities are endless.

The reason it's done in soccer is because there are no commercials during the game.  If they limit some of the annoying breaks (especially in football) then I'm all for it.  But more likely they will just add this to the already terrible amount of advertisement.

Commercial.  Kickoff.  Commercial.  Fumble on the 20.  Commercial.  3 and out, field goal.  commercial.  kickoff.  commercial.

That friggin happens.  55 seconds of game time and 5 commercials.
