#1 Posted: 7/8/2012 9:46:08 AM YTD -26.665 (1-1 yesterday, +1.915U)
Yesterday a spiked ball after 4 pitches was most likely the only thing that kept me from a 6U day. Won a nice total play on the Minny-Rangers game, and will be going to the well on that one again today.
My first pick is one I'm partial to, as the last time I made it on the ML, the Mets won 17-1 at Wrigley and scored me about 7U on a chase play. Fading Cubs against lefties is always a solid play, and Niese has been pitching well enough to warrant a try here. Dumpster was pitching great prior to the lat strain, but the Mets are good at home and coming back off the DL to get a win with these Cubs bats backing you is too tall of an order. Yes, the Mets bullpen is terrible, but the Cubs' isn't much better. Dumpster being on a pitch count today solidifies the full game call.
Mets RL +145 3 / 4.35
Don't look now, but this DeVries kid isn't terrible when he gets a start here and there. Oswalt's ERA is inflated from his most recent beat down at the hands of the White Sox, but Texas wouldn't have signed the guy if the tank was empty. I'm looking for a bounce back day for him. As a contingency, I expect him to be on a short leash with one of the best bullpens in the majors backing him today. Pairing this with:
The Reds. This is a Marquis fade more than a Cueto follow, as Johnny has not exactly dominated the Padres. That said, the Reds bats have improved, and I think they have what it takes to shut down the Fathers in SD today.
2 team parlay: Reds ML -160 / Twins & Rangers U11.5 -125 1.56 / 3.0030
BOL to all today!! |

Hopefully that luck builds some momentum before the break, would be nice to finish the first half on the upswing. |

popthebook Yesterday is gone, I'm cool to leave it there. Lesson learned from yesterday: Life is too short for drama and bullshit, and we will all experience enough of both that there's no need to create more. Thanks for the props and GL on your plays today.

Was tough to sit out a full week, but now I've got my mind right for the second half. I've never been disciplined enough to limit plays like this, but I think it might be just what I need to bring it back. |
