You will have to declare how much cash you have when you enter the US from Canada. If you do not declare they will take your money if it is more than 10,000. If you do declare, there is no penalty for bringing in as much cash as you want.

#28 Posted: 5/7/2010 1:37:56 PM Wells Fargo bank. Only problem is if you have an event starting at 9:00 in the morning (same time as the bank opens), you have to plan on withdrawing the money the night before.
It would be best to have this be a separate account set aside just for gambling trips. As in, your wife doesn't need to know. Don't worry about bank statements in the mail, sign up for paperless statements.
This way, you don't have to worry about carrying large sums of money, and no fear of getting drunk and waking up without your roll. |

#29 Posted: 5/7/2010 5:52:43 PM you can fly with up to $10,000 on you. if you need more, than just open a line of credit with the casino where you are staying or else you can actually send a check for any amount you want and just take it all out when you get there or just draw cash out like a marker whenever you need cash. they are basically holding the money for you. |

I have to think I am not the only guy using casino credit. Call the cage of the joint where you are staying and tell them you want a line .
They will take some info and give it to you in 48 hours or so. Just show up and go to any table and tell them how much you need. They will give it to you in chips which are much easier than 100's. You can settle up when you leave, I never do though, they just take it from my checking account a couple of days to weeks later.
I think they comp a little better if you have a big line. But, be careful, many a nights at 4 am I have been screaming give me another marker at the craps table, hardly able to stand. |

#34 Posted: 6/23/2010 5:01:39 AM $10-12 fees add up fairly quickly over the course of a month long trip.
I was in Vegas for WSOP last year and when I checked found out that I spent almost $800 in bank fees, so to suggest people shouldn't be concerned about them is absolutely ridiculous. The fact that someone doesn't want to piss away hundreds of dollars in bank fees has nothing to do with the size of their roll.
