If the spread is equal or greater than 33% of the total, books decline to take the play.
Atlanta -14 (42) ----- 14/42 = .33333333333
One outcome has an immediate effect on the other.
Fair enough, but when the play was refused it was 13 and 41.5, which equals a little over 31%. |

I'm not going to argue with you guys, so this is my last post on this topic. They would accept any combination on this game, EXCEPT Atlanta and OV. They would allow JAX/UN, JAX/OV, or ATL/UN, just not ATL/OV. |

I don't think that is entirely true.....single bets maybe, but parlays we are talking about here...how not accepting parlays be rewarding? You don't lose taking parlays if you base this on quarterly. There's gotta be more to it.
Although the thread could be positive...I am being negative and I am trying to figure out why. Thanks for the clarification.

#34 Posted: 12/15/2011 10:34:10 PM umm. there are commonly 3 to 4 games per NFL week that the books won't take in a parley. It is not uncommon at all. Hope you didn't make a bet off that information.

#41 Posted: 12/15/2011 11:29:11 PM Just risk more on a single play either the Ov or side which you wanted originally and get the same win amount from(parlay) if you felt that confident of it hitting anyhow..... |

#42 Posted: 12/16/2011 11:25:47 AM Thanks to you guys who understood what I was trying to share with everyone and posted supportive comments. I hope you cashed in just like I did.
For the record, the fact that books weren't accepting that combination in a parlay didn't keep me from using the info to hit the side and the total straight up, along with 2 teasers (ATL/OV & ATL/UN). I understand what correlated parlays are and why they are sometimes refused by books, but as I attempted to explain, that wasn't the reason this play was refused. It was refused because of the amount of sharp money that had been taken in on ATL by the books. I don't mean to sound rude, but I really don't know how to say this and not sound that way......if you don't understand what I'm trying to say then you don't understand the way books work and how they control their exposure on certain plays. I don't have any interest in debating anyone on here about this topic or any other so I'm not going to go back and forth with people about it. The people who understood what the info I was sharing meant and appreciated it. That's all I really care about. |

#43 Posted: 12/16/2011 12:24:41 PM I think when the spread is more than -13 in the NFL...You can't tease or parlay spreads and totals of the same game...

#44 Posted: 12/16/2011 12:36:12 PM I'm quoting this from my book....
"...does not allow same game parlays or teasers in NFL or NCAA Football
when the point spread for the game is 13 or more. First and second
halves on those games will also be restricted. This applies to same
game parlays and teasers only. You may parlay or tease a game with a
point spread of 13 or more to another event."
It could be done before ATL reached -13.

It's a good angle to play and also it seems when there is extra juice on a play that should not be there, it's a hint too. |
