#1 Posted: 5/16/2012 2:35:23 PM I've seen some people following the tourney so I thought maybe we could get a good discussion going.
Here are the lines at Pinnacle:
Canada -2 (-120) vs Slovakia Over 5.5 (-105)
Russia -2.5 (-106) vs Norway Over 6 (+104)
USA vs Finland (-115) Over 5 (-105)
Sweden -1.5 (+120) vs Czech Republic Over 5 (+102)

#2 Posted: 5/16/2012 2:47:53 PM I follow this tourney very casually and have done pretty well, hopefully others can add their thoughts, since I don't have any in depth reasoning for any of my leans..
I can see a 3-2 or 3-1 score in the Canada game. Slovakia seems to play pretty tight games. Canada's defense was a question mark coming in and while it still remains average I think the offense is starting to play much better now. I have no real lean here the lines seem spot on.
Russia/Norway seems like an over to me. Malkin and Thoresen (for Norway) are the two leading scorers in the tourney. I can get it at 5.5 so that looks appealing.
USA-Finland just played and USA won 5-0. The game will be played in Finland and you know this tourney means a lot to them when you see their fans crying in the stands. USA is really getting contributions from everyone and when you see Okposo making a great diving defensive play to stop a breakaway you can tell everyone is buying into Gordon's game plan. Should be a great game but I like USA.
No real opinion here. I see some value with the Czech's +1.5 and ML.

#3 Posted: 5/16/2012 3:34:56 PM Canada will win but no way to approach it with that line. I like the Over 5 in U.S.A/Finland game.

#4 Posted: 5/16/2012 10:59:15 PM Ya over looks good too Polar.
What a stupid schedule tho.
Why can't Sweden play the early game since they are in relatively the same time zone? Nobody in Canada is waking up at 6am to watch this!

#6 Posted: 5/17/2012 1:40:21 AM We are on the same side except I have USA over Finland... USA beat them 5-0 in the prelims so they are able to do something vs them... I hope they can do it again. I'm not going near the totals in these games... they have killed me. Good Luck. |

Sorry... I thought those were your picks in 1st post.
I like Canada-2... USA-PK... Russia-2.5... and Sweden-1.5(but was a tough choice in this one as either might cover.) |

It's obviously because of they want to fill the area. The Swedish game is played in Sweden, meaning that nobody would be able to go to the early game.
They had already trouble filling that venue as the ticket prices were outrageous. |

#15 Posted: 5/17/2012 8:38:24 AM Im not going to say canada doesnt care but I question their desire and want to win these games in a tournament that just means so much more to euro countries.
Talent alone is not good enought to win in hockey and quite frankly outside keith and maaaaybe phaneuf there was nothing on the backend. And with the way ward played he was pretty much the 2nd best goalie every competitive game. |
