You should read up on Michael Kent, Billy Walters and others. They were 'The Computer Group' that won 10s of Millions of dollars by betting on CFB and College Basketball. They used a computer when you still had the HUGE machines and had to feed them those crazy data cards. It's a pretty good read. For those who don't believe computer systems work, or will never work to bet on football, then check it out. It also talks about how the lines were basically a joke back in the 80s and early 90s in Las Vegas. Apparently they were easy to win against until Roxy Roxborough (and others) took over.
Another GREAT read is 'Bets, Drugs and Rock and Roll'. Basically the guy that ended up starting the first ever off shore betting site. But he was into the mafia and all kinds of other stuff, so it's an awesome book.....and I don't even like to read!

True in part...but like I've said in my posts...Roxy could never hold a candle to Bob Martin...not in his dreams...
I will say this...though he implies that he makesthe sharpest line..and I will defer to his 40 plus years of experience...
It was in his early years that the "Boys" beat him at his game...
the fact of the matter is this..his lines are muscled around daily...
when Martin set the lines...it did not budge..plain and simple...bookmakers could believe that the line was solid..because Bob made it...
nowadays with some action...the books move and risk middles...proof that roxy (he is retired and sold his company) cannot and never will be ahead of the game...he will always be playing catchup....
something akin to a friend of mine in Toronto...smart Russian kid...about twenty years old..gave me a 20 one day and said if I wanted as much as I wanted...
it's 25 cents on the dollar...SIX Months before it officially came out a year ago..
trust me...the most educated works on the other side of the table..more money to be made..

this was a few years ago when they made the denominations a larger strip...even had those "official" US Trasury silver strips down the side in the paper...flawless....
