DO NOT GET AN MRI .....before you have skull xrays. I dont care what anybody tells you.

MRI not investigation of choice for metallic foreign bodies for obvious reasons.

CT scan would be the scan of choice.

But agree with post #51

plain skull X-Ray would be a mandatory first line investigation and also a Orthopantomogram would be useful. Then a CT scan, would be the next step in the investigation of a metallic foreign body.
