I agree with you in some respects. I said two years ago that Saban was making a mockery of college football. It will be a difficult task every year to knock Alabama out of the chase for the national title as long as Saban is there.
Recruits are flocking to Alabama because they know Saban will maximize their NFL potential. Alabama players are getting drafted higher just because they played for Saban, and recruits understand that.
Alabama is not paying players for two main reasons: a) they have waaaaaaay too much to lose and, b) they don't have to. They have, however, lost several blue-chip recruits to other programs who are paying players.
