List your top 5 of the 5 teams who you think have been the most improved teams and and the top 5 of the 5 move degraded/reduced teams.

Just do your best even tho not all trades have been made.

Looking forward to the next season already.

Teams that are going downhill:

HOU, DAL, PHO, ORL (with or without Howard), and Indy to a small extent.

I think the Heat and Celtics have improved (which is scary because they were the best two teams in the postseason).

Heat : Ray allen, Rashard Lewis (those guys are gonna spread the floor and are great additional scoring threats)

Celtics: Jason Terry (an upgrade over allen because he is better off the bench), Jeff Green (another scoring threat and relieves pierce from having to defend the other teams best player and getting into foul trouble etc.), and a healthy avery bradley this season.

The knicks improved by getting camby and the Nets will be a much better team, but they are still a class below the above 2 teams (or the Bulls if Rose is healthy)

and screw the west, they need to learn to play defense.

Bhawks, thanks for sharing. How about teams like Portland, Timberwolves, Golden State, do you think these fellas will improve from last year?

Degraded teams:
1. Mavs (Lost Terry and JKidd on top of grieving last year's lost)
2. Hou (Total makeover in the team)
3. Orl (Total makeover in the team after sending Anderson off)
4. Atl (No Joe Johnson and getting nothing back)
5. Chi (Didn't make any effort to sign someone = dead meat.  DRose is done)
6. Portland (Lost everyone and rebuilding around Aldridge and Matthews!!!  WTF is wrong with this team?)

I had to add one more in the list.  These teams are pathetic!

Upgraded Teams:
1. Lakers (Nash is in to fill the needed weakness.  Kobe's gonna be a beast because he doesn't have to create his shots all the time)
2. Celtics (Great draft picks.  JTerry joins.  Garnett resigns.  Bass resigns.  Working to get
3. Heat Gained RAllen and RLewis.  Just give them next year's ring too)
4. Brooklyn Nets (Only if they get DHoward.   If DHoward is not Brooklyn bound, then I actually would put Brooklyn Nets on my mixed feelings list).  They lost a lot of players to get JJohnson and personally, I don't think the lost was worth it.  All eyes will have to be on Lopez to step it up next year....
5. Wolves.  (Only if Batum gets there) Loved their moves this offseason with Buldinger too.  BRoy is a great gamble and if he does come back to all star status, he alone will be a big game (for a cheap price too!)

Mixed feelings:
PHX (Lost Nash and probably GHill but gained a lot of great players if you ask me.  Eric Gordon, Dragic and Bayless will help the team.  However, where's the love for big men???)
NYK (JKidd is nice, Camby is nice too.  Lost Fields but that is actually great news.  But is it me or did Knicks got older?  Still no answer to the SG position.  IMO, I think Knicks need another PG.  JKidd and JLin are injury risk)
OKC - No moves?

Kidd is not an injury risk.  He played 80 games a year since 2005, except for LY with the shortened season.

As far as SG goes, I think you will see Kidd in the same backcourt as Lin, sort of like how they used Barea two years ago.  They will split the PG duties, and Kidd will be a huge help to Lin.

You are right about that but JKidd already said that he is only good for 20-25 minutes.  That's a little bit less than half the game.  For him to survive an 82 game season, it's gonna be a hard task.  Plus, JLin can't play 40+ minutes every night so both of them need to interchange.  Right now, only JRSmith is the starting SG and no one else.  They seriously need another SG.  I really hope they are trying to negotiate with either Ronnie Brewer or OJ Mayo.  I don't even mind if they try to get Michael Redd!

Please add GS as part of the list of degrading teams.  They just trading their starting SF for a foreigner.....

West coast is just getting uglier and uglier.

I can see the playoff teams for the West already.

OKC
LaLakers
SaSpurs
Memphis
LAClippers
Phoenix
Denver
Minn

I disagree with anyone putting the Hawks on a degrading team.  This lineup plus a reliable SF or backup C will be as good as last year's Hawks team without Horford.

PG: Teague, Devon Harris

SG: Morrow, Lou Williams, Jenkins

SF: Smith, Stevenson

PF: Horford, Williams, Ivan Johnson

C: Pachulia, Petro

This team can play all kinds of different rotations.  The Hawks also went 4-2 in a stretch last year without Horford and Johnson in the lineup.

They lost to New York and Miami (by 3) and beat Orlando, Milwaukee, Indiana, and Oklahoma City.

You made a valid point.  I would put ATL in my mixed feeling list of teams.

Stevenson is done.  This kid is overweight and useless.  If Al Horford can play back to his star level, then they are good.  Petro is too small to play that position but he's quick enough to out run all of the centers.  Devon Harris was a super pickup for ATL but I was surprised by this move.  Both of these players deserve starting jobs.  .

paidon, getting rid of Wright opened up $4million of cap space, which will provide the warriors more money to play with in FA and provide more playing time for the number 7 pick Barnes who also plays the same position.  Also, Wright is in the final year of his contract...who knows what he will ask for following this year.

It's not always about who you get in return.  Atlanta is a prime example....they dumped some large contracts...finding anyone to take those contracts is a win.

Asomugha;

They let Crawford go.  Not sure if Batum would be resigned but he hinted that he wants to play for the Wolves.  Have no idea if Fat Felton would be signed or not.  They were unsuccessful to get Lopez from the Nets.  Plus, they will have a new coach.  Another rebuilding team.

i have no idea why teams are even trying to trade.... or improve.... MIAMI HEAT with the addition of lewis and allen to spread the floor with 3pt shooter... lebron will just drive in and get doubled team and kick out to open 3pt shooters and it will be done with.   HEAT just need to sign a BIG man .... and its game over...give miami the ring for next year.

As a Hawks fan, I'm just glad they found someone take Joe's contract. The hawks got a ton of expiring contracts and got Marvin Williams out of town for Harris. I think they make the playoffs, but next year they have SO much cap room. And I'm tired of watching joe score 10 points in the playoffs and make 25 mil a year.

Brooklyn Nets recruiting staff is far better than the Knicks.  THey made a bold move on getting JJohnson so they can resign DWill.  I was sure DWill was going to walk.  JJohnson was overpriced but getting him won DWill's heart.  Turned out to be a great move.  Not getting DHoward hurt the Nets plan but they still got next year to try to get him.

As for Knicks.  They are getting older and older.  JKidd, MCamby and KThomas makes them look older than Boston's PPierce, KGarnett and JTerry.  Someone please get rid of Grunwald....

Gotta look out for NO.  Their draft picks were superb and they got back Eric Gordon.  However, they really need Carl Landry back.

So:

Warriors
New Orleans
Nets
Heat

^ All these 4 teams improved? I use this to consider which over/unders i will take.

I think i will take Orlando season team totals under and Bobcats under, and then these 4 teams over. Depending on the lines of course when they are released!!

I am not sure about the Warriors.  This club is stupid.  Once they get a team in place, they somehow break it up.  It's like they don't want to do good.

for the warriors it all comes down to the health of curry and bogut--if they play 70+ games, the team will be much improved.
