|As mentioned above, foreign checks cannot be deposited via ATM. If you go inside, it shouldn't be a problem. Generally, they place a hold on it for one day and then it is cleared.

For Canadian checks the routing number is different so they have to put a 0 or 1 in front of the routing number for it to go through. Most tellers don't know how to do this and will call for a supervisor.
The only other issue is determining whether the check is in US funds or not, but the check usually makes it clear. Otherwise, there should be no issues with Canadian checks.
