#8 Posted: 7/18/2008 1:14:56 PM I was searching for insights on some games to wager on and found Covers through a search engine. That was the beginning of the road to bankruptcy. |

#12 Posted: 7/18/2008 1:53:14 PM I used to work in an OHL arena and me and the other employees would play PRO-LINE during our shifts. Up until then I'd use nhl.com, tsn.ca and blind homerism/haterism to make my pics.
One night the biggest jackass in the rink told me about covers for stats, matchups, etc. He told me I'd lose money "if I listened to the guys in the forums." I signed up for a membership after lurking for a few days and started posting my garbage pics. I signed up for an account at a sportsbook, lost my first bankroll quickly, but have been betting relatively successfully ever since.
For the most part the jackass was right about blindly tailing ppl but the forums have been an invaluable resource for money management information, and general news and info. Also, cant say enough good things about the way threegirls and lipps run the hockey forum.

#18 Posted: 7/18/2008 2:26:56 PM At a sports bar....overheard some dude talking about Gamehunters picks and how he was the greatest ever. Checked it out that night when I got home. I tailed Gamehunter the next day and went 0-6. True story.

#20 Posted: 7/18/2008 2:31:13 PM A friend told me about it years ago. I think it was '02 back when Lou was kickin' it in the hot tub with those chicks.
I quit gambling for a few years, then when I tried to comeback - my old username didn't work so I e-mailed covers help & they said sorry I had to start over.
The rest as they say ...is history |

#25 Posted: 7/18/2008 2:59:12 PM I'm in a Betting Cartel that puts up before Labor Day and we pick 5 football games College/Pro each week through the Super Bowl. Top 3 are in the $ at season's end. I was looking for CFB Stats via Google and ended up checking out the forums. I found the characters in the place quite entertaining, and liked the obscure picks some guys come up with due to their unusual methods of research.
Despite some of the drama of late, Covers is always good for a laugh or two to go with my Cartel research. |
