#10 Posted: 6/16/2008 2:33:05 AM Boston only laying 3.5 points at home?
Is this an error or what? Got to look into it, but I am pretty sure I am pounding this one.
This makes zero sense whatsoever. What am I missing?
Lakers have no shot, I mean ZERO SHOT of winning this game and we are basically getting Boston close to a pickem.

#12 Posted: 6/16/2008 8:09:04 AM So........ how many of you actually think the LAKERS are NOT capable of winning this game? Vegas would cash in HUGE if they did. The Lakers are 0-5 ATS in the NBA Finals. Can they pull one off in Boston? Do they have a HUGE breakout game and beat Boston down in their own house? I'll be putting on my thinking cap for this one and consulting my local Palm Reader.....

#13 Posted: 6/16/2008 9:03:48 AM Boston in 6. Clearly they are the better team. They should have won games 5.
Observations Rondo is not a starting point guard, he is prone to make bone headed decisions, i.e bypassing an open lay up to swing a pass for a 3 pt to Pierce. Fouling Fisher for on a 4 point play and then throwing an errant pass that Lakers connected on 3 pointer.
Garnett is not a big time player. Sorry. Missed free throws, tip in and dumb behind fouls. The only person that came to play in close out game was Pierce. Will Glen Davis ever play? Rivers has a better bench but he does not use it to tis full capacity
Lakers got a Father's day gift they didnt win because they played harder. Phil is delusional if he thinks this. Boston did not execute in the last 2 minutes of the game. Kobe knows his team is not as good as the Celtics and he cant penetrate their defense.
Plain and simple Boston's defense is much better than the Lakers offense. Boston in game 6 in front of home crowd

#14 Posted: 6/16/2008 10:56:06 AM The clearly better team is only laying 3.5 in a close out game at home??? How can this be turned down???

i agree completely... there is no doubt that joe public will be betting Boston heavily in this game...
look at the sudden shift in people's perceptions so suddenly...
game 2 the line was L.A. (-2) IN BOSTON... with a healthy Perkins... even game 1 the line was only Bos (-1.5) or so without any injury issues for Boston at all...
but now, without Perkins and with Rondo being a liability, people suddenly are wondering how Boston is only laying 3.5... that's a 5.5 point swing from the last game in Boston... and yet everyone thinks it is a gimme...
gotta wonder... |

#16 Posted: 6/16/2008 11:28:29 AM this game is going to be won on the defensive end of the floor. IMO odom and gasol will not have another preformance similar to game 5. with that being said...the celtics have shown they can contain kobe. Boston is giving up just over 87 ppg at home throughout the season. we all have seen how up tight and scared LA plays when boston cranks up the intensity...and that was WITH their home crowed backing them. there is no way LA steals one in boston. i said it a couple days ago and ill say it again....boston wins this one by double digits. |

i think you mean Garnett was not a bigtime player in game 5... that's about as bad as you will see him play... |

#21 Posted: 6/16/2008 1:47:42 PM GoG- Garnett has not risen to the occassion in this Lakers series. He should be posting up Gasol up on every turn. He is just as long and quicker. KG settles for too many jump shots. No player is more deserving of a title than KG but the great ones, play smart and they make critical free throws. Russell, Bird, Jordan, Magic played and dominated. KG is 36 of 88 from the field through 5 games. The only dominant game was game 1 where he scored 24 points, 13 rebounds. The points after have been 17, 13, 16, 13. This is the championship and if you can't elevate your performance, then you cant be helped. You should never say after a potential close out game that I played like garbage. WTF. You can tell that I took Boston right. What pissed me off was that he played like a retard and this aint the time to play shaky. |

#25 Posted: 6/16/2008 6:11:54 PM Story- My buddy's family has had season tickets to the Celts for 28 years, no kidding. He says the loudest thing hes ever heard in his life, including everything, was when Bird stole the ball and D.J. laid it in. He says Jordan was the best player he ever saw. He said he use to shake Johnny Mosts hand when he was a kid before every game. He said the Garden use to be full of smoke and people loved it. He'll be there tomorrow night. he was never there for a championship win...his parents were. Tomorrow night he'll be there for it. He told me that the thing that you dont see on tv that you see there and hear is the crowd. The crowd tomorrow night along with this city will be down right psychotic. Nothing and I mean nothing will stop the celtics from winning this tomorrow- at least by 6 probably by 10. It ends tomorrow. This will not be close. Count on it. Boston will explode...we are all just waiting for it- I mean the whole city will burst...22 years of tention will be in the Garden- how could you even entertain the thought of the Celts losing...? 4.5 spread- youve got to be kidding me.
Celts by 10 easy. game over. end of Story. |
