Who should play the king in the movie version? Dustin Diamond aka Screech is my vote.

Of course, a license to practice law emboldens me.
Good luck.
Thats the best advice given so far. You needed to warn him first . Yes, he was a person for parking there many times w/o asking but you said it best after the fact, I have to still live next to him...Should have thought that way before you towed him. |

#180 Posted: 11/10/2006 9:10:52 AM My eye still looks like garbage. I've had to take more time off work because of this. The worst part is I know the fool who did this too me lives 20 feet away.
It's driving me crazy.

#181 Posted: 11/10/2006 9:20:13 AM You learned a lesson the hardway. I feel bad for your eye but if you would have told the tow truck to go away with the cop standing there and also your neighbor is right there, this situation would have been defused right then and there. If it wouldnt have died down, you would have a police report indicating that you warned the neighbor, didnt tow his car, acted "reasonable" although the neighbor wasnt behaving that way and the cop probably lectures the neighbor about doing the right thing toward you in the future. Anything wrong the neighbor would do in the future after that, then you take other measures. Unfortunately, the injured party (and Im not talking physically injured, Im talking about when he was just parking in your driveway) needs to be the one to show restraint and reasonable. With hindsight being 20/20, do you wish you handled it differently? |

#184 Posted: 11/10/2006 6:37:38 PM So it looks like I may have lost 5-10% of my vision. This is gonna be a big money making move for me, he is gonna pay out his behind on this.
I was pissed that he sucker punched me in the middle of a conversation, but not it's serious. I'll be dealing with this for the rest of my life and because of that he is gonna pay.
PAY guy!

#187 Posted: 11/10/2006 6:57:59 PM King - So sorry to hear about the eye.
Most of the people on this board are just trying to cause garbage with you - ignore it.
Pursue the criminal charges - pursue legal action - take this guy for all he's worth.
Suggestion: Set up a video camera and have it tape every day from now till the court date and show any and all the times he parks in your driveway from now till then. Should be great leverage in the case. |

#188 Posted: 11/10/2006 7:19:44 PM holy garbage I left this thread at darn neighbors and all hell has broken loose since. King I hope this is not a lie as that would be truly pathetic beyond belief. Thats like jerking off to a Sears bra ad pathetic. As far as advice this is a legal battle now which means greedy lawyers make some more dough. None of this would have happened or even should have happened if all you had to do was talk to the guy. Good Luck with everything buy a german sheppard or a rott. |

#191 Posted: 11/11/2006 2:25:39 AM This whole thing could have been avoided by initially leaving a note on his windshield telling him not to park there. Instead you had to get cute now you both are tying up the legal system with your petty bullshit. |

Aside from that, good comedy relief here as I'm with Hutch on this whole story.

#197 Posted: 11/11/2006 10:38:09 AM Settle out of court for the dude's car and let it sit in your driveway until the end of time. Now, THAT would be funny.

#198 Posted: 11/11/2006 11:48:54 AM king don't take this the wrong way but why not hit him back. You went over to give him a piece of your mind with fire in your eyes, the guy clocks you and all you can think of is a lawsuit. Why not dance since the invitation was dealt, at the end of all this I think you should have settled it like men, this would have created a mutual respect for eachother. Been there before and a good fight creates more respect than this other garbage you have to go through. If you stood up for yourself instead of towing and calling the cops you would have been better off. The whole point is if this lawsuit gets thrown out you get nothing out of it, and he got to land a haymaker for $218.
Fighting doesn't solve everything but I think the boiling point was there and it had to be done. |
