You have legalized lotteries which is the dumbest friggin garbage on earth, all it does it tax poor / morons so the welfare is higher.

BUT ONLINE GAMING.. HEY BAN THAT. SAVE THE WORLD.

I swear all these politicians are worthless. They accomplish nothing. If you wanna stop terrorists, then how about building a friggin fence and putting troops on the border WITH GUNS.

Did they attach it to the border bill?  I thought they were going to attach it to maritime bill or something?

Congresswoman from Nevada just talked about how they were pissed that the Republicans wasted so much time and held up this important bill by trying so hard to insert a totally unrelated internet-gaming provision.

i hear from very reliable sources that the port security bill will pass...with the online gaming bill amendment...and a lot of other crummy stuff that doesn't concern us here. frist knows that senators can't vote against port security...that would be unpatriotic.

Everybody, why not boycott all of the lotteries ? Hit them where it hurts. I am boycotting the lotteries. Give a shout, vote Republicans out ( another way to hit them where it hurts. )

Look guys - I hate to keep repeating this but these are facts as they stand now:

1.  If this bill gets passed  - it targets cc's, payment processors, banks etc.

2.  The bill puts the responsibility on the cc's, banks, and payment processors to enforce it.

3.  The language in the bill as it is written now states that there is a 270 day time period for these organizations to figure out a way to do this.

4.  In no way shape or form does this put any responsiblity on the gambler - or make it in any way shape or form illegal to do anything different than what the gambler is currently doing.

So dont panic.  Is it bad?  YES.  It is bad because it probably leads to more legislation down the line.  But this bill is not intended to criminalize you the gambler.

There will be many workarounds.  The bill is largely political to appease the Christian base.

The media will run headlines like "internet gambling bill illegal" etc - be educated - be smart - read the bill and understand it.  It is LEGAL to wager online at the federal level and that is not being challenged tonight.

Stay active and stay in the fight.
