The average corporate tax rate was down to around 12% in 2011, the lowest since World War I so yup, that is THE problem.

Don't we have the (of one of the) highest in the world?

Part of the solution for sure.
The reality is America is the only country in the world that allows the following:
A corporation to have its principle place of business here, allowed to close all of its plants here, move them elsewhere, not taxed on any of the goods coming back here, and received a tax break for 'improvements' by closing its factories and building them overseas.
Pure absurdity. The blame isn't on the corporation (although partially) but squarely on our politicians. Republicans have done nothing to stop this (in fact, it was their bill in the 90s that allowed this) and Dems pay nothing but 'lip service.' They attach reforms to unwinnable bills and say they 'really tried.'
The reality is that both parties get rich off the this policy that allows their donors to get rich.
The solution will raise prices, but I have talked about this. How much it will do so? Well, you tell me. Does a Walmart really want to have the same prices as a place where everything is American made? Same with clothing, electronic stores, etc.?
Someone like me will pay more for American made products and my guess is that if the prices are equal, most people will too (autos are an exception to an extant).
Part of the solution for sure.

And Wall and Club are right on this as usual.
As Wall said, you want to move your factories overseas, that is completely fine and appropriate. That is a business decision.
Just don't give them an incentive to do so at the expense of their American competition.
