The majority of the elderly vote Republican, why would they want to supress that vote? Your theory doesn't add up on this one.
Anyone that is in this country illegally should be labeled an illegal at every turn. The term undocumented makes it sound like it was just a clerical error instead of the possible felony that it was (sorry Jeb Bush, you are wrong, there are millions of illegals in this country that are felons).
Anyway, we have strayed way off course on the original topic, my apologies.
The illegals debate opens a whole new can of worms. If immigrants are to be charged 1,000 dollars to be a citizen. Then every single white person in this country owes Native Americans and Mexicans 1,000 bucks each and must pass their test. All who are ancestors of immigrants, who came to this country for free, must pay the fee, as well.
Everyone must pay 1,000 bucks to be "true citizens." Since Jesus Christ (a foreigner) isn't an American, I assume you consider him an illegal, (if he is "resurrected" in the United States), and would want him to be deported or pay for citizenship?

When I say southern strategy, I don't mean a strategy to just get southern voters. I mean it's a strategy to get the white vote. The point of the strategy is to get 70 percent of the populations vote.
The side with the most votes wins. Republicans think if they can suppress the hispanic and black vote somehow that the southern strategy will work, again. What it did was give democrats race ammunition.
Hate to tell ya, but no one gives a flying fukk about the stupid benghazi clusterfukk.

Don,Don I believe you were boxed a while back for this kind of pooferphobic talk in the mains.
We all know Buffet is a liberal Democrat because he demands we raise our national taxes ,,while he's a tax deadbeat. ..The "Buffet Rule " let the IRS sue if they want to collect my taxes..
In 2012, Bill and Melinda Gates personally contributed over 70K to Democrats... including $60,800 to the DNC and individual contributions to President Barack Hussein Obama, ...
Larry Ellison has been a big donor to House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and former Senator, now Secretary of State in the Obama administration, John Kerry....Back in February Obama was teeing off on a private California golf course in Rancho Mirage owned by supporter Larry Ellison...

We should end SS, it's a ponzi scheme. Gradually phase it out and replace it with a system that allows an individual to keep the money they contributed and pass it on to their heirs. It can be similar to the amount taken out of your paycheck now, say 3% - 5%, and that can go into your personal account and earn interest (any is more than we are getting now). When an individual dies, all the money they put into the system is not stolen by the govt, but rather is passed to a family member account. I consider it forced savings to lessen the burden on society to take care of people that spent all their money their entire lives instead of planning for retirement. Of course we as a society will continue to take care of those that truly cannot provide for themselves.
Regarding the illegals - I do not want them to have to pay $1000 or any amount for ther citizenship, they should never be allowed to buy it. If they want to be legal residents and eventually citizens, we already have procedures and laws in place for that. Nobody should get rewarded for coming here illegally. That being said, we have to deal with the reality that 30 million or more people are here illegally are not going to be deported. I could live with an agreement that anyone here illegally that has no other criminal record, can be granted legal status after some period of time. The only stipulation is that these people will never be eligible for citizenship, no voting rights, no access to any government assistance (food stamps, welfare, unemployment). We also need a better temp worker program that will allow permanent residency and a path to citizenship for those that follow the law. My daughter married a Brit and I got to see first hand what they had to go through to bring him over here. He will never be allowed to receive govt assistance of any kind (not that he would need to), so why should someone that came here illegally get those benefits? It is a slap in the face to all Americans and all living here legally to allow the law breakers that walk across the border to recieve any special treatment, benefits and to buy their legalization.

Your tone on immigrants repulses me. You speak as if your $hit don't stink. You're an ignorant, pompous a-hole. You speak as if anyone that isn't born in this country are measly peasants. If the peasants wish to be in my domain, I will grant the peasants their wish, but the peasants will not have the same privileges, as I. Now, where is my giant turkey leg. Give the peasants my scraps, to appease the little people.

Sorry if my views on law breakers repulses you, not my problem. And can we at least have a conversation without the name calling?
Nowhere did I say anyone not born here are peasants. I think we need to have more and easier legal immigration to allow those that want to come here and contribute and make a better life for themselves an opportunity to do so. I just want them to do so legally, is that so hard to understand? I don't think we owe any non legal resident a damn thing for coming here and breaking our laws. Just because it is somewhat difficult to fill out the paperwork, jump through the numerous government hoops doesn't mean we should just reward those that refuse to follow the law. So yes, anyone not born here that is here illegally should not get the same benefits and privileges as anyone here legally.
If I go to Mexico (where I have a condo by the way), do you think I can get any benefits from their govt? I have to renew my visa every year and pay hundreds of dollars to do so. I will never have voting rights there and I could go to prison for speaking out or protesting against the Mexican govt even if I'm legally in the country. Should we apply those same laws here and round up all the illegals that march by the thousands for their "rights"?

Maybe I needed to be more clear. I said that illegal immigrants that would be granted legal status should not have the same privileges. If an immigrant goes through the steps to become a US citizen then yes, full privileges, but not for those that come here illegally and are granted amnesty for legal status as in my example of a way to deal with those here now. Legal status would allow them to work here, raise a family etc, but I don't feel they should be eligible for govt assistance or the right to vote, which should be reserved for US citizens. When looking into other countries immigration laws, I saw a common theme that required people to prove that they could support themselves financially and not have to rely on the government for help. I agree with that policy. We have enough people here now that need the help. People that come here legally now have those same requirements and are not allowed to file for benefits (my son in law for example can never get food stamps or welfare).
My grandparents came to this country in 1926 from Germany by way of a visa from the US consul as two of the lucky ones once the new caps per country went into place. So no, I do not consider them law breakers or felons. When earlier generations came over the US did not have the laws in place to limit immigration so those people technically were not law breakers either if thats what you were going for. Also, people that come here are not felons just for coming here unless they have already been deported. An illegal re-entry after deportation is a felony, simply coming across the first time is not.
Yes there are desperate people all over the world, but we cannot take them all in. As I stated, we need to make it easier for people to come here legally but we still need to limit it. The paperwork and interviews, back ground checks are tedious and expensive, but mostly needed to be able to know who is coming here and why. I don't have a problem with Mexico at all, I love it there and their people. I just hate the double standards. We are supposed to have open borders and let everyone in without question and give away all sorts of things while every other country has laws that are strictly enforced? That is a good way to lose this country forever.

I
love how you just easily justify your position by saying since there
was no laws back then… technically they are not criminals, but now since
there are laws, it’s a crime. The idea that people believe that their
ancestors were just “immigrants” because there was no laws in place or
simply because their ancestors put their name on a list, and people
today, who came here for the exact same reasons, are now considered
“illegal immigrants” is insane.
The Republican Party has figured out a way to indoctrinate people to believe that today’s immigrants are illegal’s and immigrants of the past were settlers. My solution is for the US to just buy Mexico, so we can stop this ridiculous debate for good.
