Just look a photo of this of this boy looking at a Bushmaster. Is this what we want for our children ? This is insane !
These stats are more than insignificant, and actually prove that out of those that carry guns 80% of them are criminals and got them illegally.
That doesn't make me want to tighten restrictions on those that actually follow the law.

There isn't much difference than saying young drivers are more likely to have traffic accidents. However, I do support the requirement in storing their firearms safely.

You sue the parents for all they are worth, for neglect.
That would reduce some of it.. But most parents that own guns while a child is growing up, aren't too bright anyway. There are more positive ways to teach a child, and better ways to spend money.

I am not sure your question is directed at me but I will answer it. Just like drunken-driving laws, you can't really enforce them until "after-the-fact" but it doesn't mean we shouldn't have them. I always cherish my 2nd Amendment right but I also feel that it comes with great responsibility as well.

Like your hero, and possible Democratic nominee for the presidency Joe Biden?
Just because people choose to raise their children differently than you does not mean that they are stupid.
But You have that " I know better than everyone else, so I have to force my views on them via the law" mentality.

Drunk Driving laws are also enforced by Nazi Style checkpoints where you are forced to prove that you are sober to men with guns and dogs. They have even militarized some of these "sobriety checkpoints" near the border so that they can serve another unconstitutional purpose in making sure that you are sober and a legal citizen.
Do you see where I am going with this?
If you pass a law that dictates how you store you personal property it is a reason for law enforcement to come into your home, for a "check". Which will lead to harassment of gun owners, and the trampling of the 4th amendment.
This is exactly why the 4th amendment was written if you think that that I am being dramatic, and with the mission creep that is apparent in every aspect of law enforcement. (MRAPs and Drones included) do you really think it would go well?

I see where you are coming from but IN NO CHANCE I would support giving any law enforcement agency the right to go into individual home to check. That's why I said it's more like a "after the fact" type of law.
I understand that you have given numerous examples on government tyranny and such. By the same token, why is it so far-fetched to assume there are a number of cases(we all heard of them) on gun-related deaths/injuries each year due to some irresponsible gun-owners? They should be held responsible for their own negligence, shouldn't they?

If we are talking about a purely "after the fact", there are:
"negligent storage" laws that punish people who's kids get ahold of guns. (I am totally in favor of this) Most States have a version of this on the books.
I am also for "reckless endangerment" in cases where negligent storage leads to a crime or injury.
I am also in favor of 2nd degree manslaughter charges for some (but not all) people in cases of accidental shootings etc.
These are all things that are currently in the legal lexicon, and can be applied at the state level.

But, this is another great example of laws that will not get passed because the people that are pushing for them do not respect the 2nd amendment.
If Diane Feinstein proposed a bill that made these federal crimes, I would be against it.
I don't even know if I could support my Senator (who I voted for) if he attempted to push this on the state level.

Joe is not "my hero" but he is surely better than New Jersey Fats, or Alaska bird brain.
I have raised a child, in fact I moved to Orlando because I thought it would be a safer place. He is grown now.. so he turned out to be a good man.
I would not let him have a motorcycle when he wanted one at age 17, and I bought him a safe car at 18 before he could ask for a motorcycle.
I absolutely would never let him near a gun either. It has a negative connotation to me.
If you can sleep at night knowing that you have introduced your child to a weapon, Good luck with that, I could Not sleep.

I am concerned for you, since you have a gun. Because you and Rick are gullible, and getting up there in age.
Soon your doctor will put you on some kind of medication, I'm sure. they all do. And all meds have side effects., depression, nightmares, hallucinations, etc.
You have been warned. If there are any mass shootings in Lordspoint, Ct. or Morgantown, W.Va.. I'll know what happened.
