You do realize that Scooty Libby was not convicted of outing Plame,right? He had nothing to do with it. He was a scapegoat that got "convicted" of one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury, and one count of making false statements. He did not out Plame. That was Richard Armitage who admitted that he was the one that leaked it.
What I don't get is they had this big investigation into this and only convicted a stooge (Libby) and not even for the crime they were trying to get and yet here is a guy in Armitage that admitted he was the one and he doesn't even stand trial??? I guess if they couldn't get Rove or Cheney it just wasn't worth it to prosecute Armitage.
I'm not defending them or saying they weren't guilty of outing Plame. I'm saying we have a guy that basically jumped up and down saying he did it and he didn't even stand trial. Why is that? Why didn't the special council go after him when he came out and said he did it?
If Armitage did out Plame he should have stood trial. We still have an outing of a CIA employee and nobody has been held responsible even though we have a confession. I guess Armitage wasn't a big enough fish.
Someone said it best once," Lying to a bunch of liars(Congress) shouldn't be a crime". It really is nothing but grandstanding by both sides.
