What to do about this situation? We should continue having boys (those with male reproductive organs) use boy bathrooms and females (those with female reproductive organs) use female bathrooms?

You think allowing kids to "choose" their gender identity is a good idea?

Today the phrase pandoras box means to preform an action that may seem small or innocuous, but turns out to have severe and far~reaching cinsequences.

I have been good about anwsering quesions and would please ask you and DL to anwser the question I have previously stated.

You thinking allowing kids to "choose" their gender is a good thing?

So what do you do with women who are not comfortable with a transgendered female to male that looks male walking through the women's restroom?

most females react in fear or anger if there is someone that looks, dresses like and talks like a male in the female restroom...

what is your solution?

kids to "choose" their gender?

thats like saying that parents can "choose" gender...  like if a kid says they want to be a certain gender and instead the parents choose a gender for them...  Its that a good idea?

I personally believe that kids are not at an age where their identity is formed yet...  but I dont not think that my personal beliefs need to be imposed on society in a totalitarian manner as if I want a dictatorship that demands that things be the way I see fit...

Like I am personally pro-life, but I do not think that my personal view on the issue must become law for everyone in every situation...  I guess I believe in freedoms to make personal choices, with personal accountability and face the consequences of the choices and options....  Its a less of a Big Intrusive government approach...

Perhaps we differ in that fundamental belief...

there was a pretty good discussion the GD on this topic already... alot of good debate and dialog there...

kids to "choose" their gender?

thats like saying that parents can "choose" gender...  like if a kid says they want to be a certain gender and instead the parents choose a gender for them...

Perhaps we differ in that fundamental belief...

there was a pretty good discussion the GD on this topic already... alot of good debate and dialog there...

alot of it to me is to try to increase intrusiveness and regulation of others and point the finger outward rather than looking at personal accountability and responsibility and taking a quiet moment to look inward introspectively through prayer or spiritual connectedness to a higher power...

too busy reading the ticker at the bottom of the screen while the talking head prescribes the current propaganda and rhetoric to follow

what is your solution?

To me, it's really this simple: If a person has a penis, he uses a male bathroom; if a person has a vagina, she uses a female bathroom, irrespective of the way one dresses, acts, or feels. I don't think we should uproot the entirety of public bathroom policy because of an extremely small minority of people who feel confused and attempt "sex changes" (one cannot biologically change his/her male/female nature, although one can mutilate ).

Besides, what logic suggests that, since women feel uncomfortable on the rare occasion a male enters their bathroom, we should therefore let all males enter the female bathroom by eradicating distinctions?

And thus I restate my original question: do you think allowing students to "choose" their gender identity is a good idea?

I will answer your question...  I dont think students choosing or having having their gender identity chosen for them is a good idea...

so help me understand your "solution"

when a female to male transgendered person enters a ladies room, you are telling the women to simply tolerate having a person that looks like and acts like man in the ladies room?

should the women have the right to question the person female to male transgendered person that looks like and acts like a man?

if not, what if a man just enters the restroom, should they not question that individual because in your solution they are required to be all PC about it?

help me understand your solution that you propose for this occurrence.... Im not sure exactly what your proposed solution is

Do you recognize the biological fact that gender is inherent, not chosen? Thus, any language suggesting "choice" about gender is a farce.

so help me understand your "solution"

What's the alternative? Eliminating separate public bathrooms would only amplify that problem manifold.

I am unclear as to what you're trying to ask. What do you mean by "question"--literally ask the individual what she is doing in the female bathroom? Sure. And if a male walked in, I would expect him to get asked the same thing. Ultimately, a woman can go to the authorities if a male refuses to comply with bathroom policy.

help me understand your solution that you propose for this occurrence.... Im not sure exactly what your proposed solution is

Again, I disagree with the premise. To suggest a solution is needed presupposes there's a problem, which there isn't. Why do you think there is?

My solution, smaller bathrooms where only 1 person can be accomodated at a time.

And where would the money come from? Every public mall, sports arena and public building would be required to have single person bathrooms--that expansion would cost untold amounts. Why, especially in a time where we have trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see, is that a good idea?

I believe your original post refered to schools,no? When I was in school the toilet was approx 10x25(250sq ft) with 4 stalls, 4 urinals and 4 sinks. A shitter and a sink would fit nicely into a 5x5(25sq ft) space. So you could put 10 of these into the same space and doors are cheaper than urinals.

Ok, but such a change would require construction work across the country, costing taxpayers all kinds of money, even if the single bathrooms constructed were small. Again, is that kind of spending of taxpayer money wise, given that transgenders are less than one percent of the population? Also, keep in mind that this transgender phenomenon extends beyond public bathroom policy to sports: boys and girls can play on each others' sports teams. Is that a good idea?

The premise is reality... this happens...  that is reality...

so what is your solution other than denying reality?

Cost is minimal compared to possible lawsuits.Don't really think adding 1 unisex toilet would be that expensive. As for sports , if say there is a girls team but not a boys team of the same sport they (boys) should be allowed to participate and vice versa. This has already been going on for some time now. To each his own.

The answer is there have always been a few people in society who have felt confused about their gender, yet it was never an issue until now, when the left decided it needed to be an issue. Well, I disagree with the left's premise. It remains a non-issue. And that brings me precisely to the problem with leftism: It's always seeking some change; it thrives on invented crises. If we were to eliminate separate public bathrooms tomorrow, some other thing that's currently a non-issue the left would make an issue.

And realize, too, we have not even addressed the other facet of this topic: that not only would separate bathrooms be effectively eliminated, but men and women would be interchangeable on sports teams. Is that a good idea?

ummmmmm  what?

I dont understand the answer the answer to my question?

You offer no solution... it seems that all you are doing is babbling about partisan BS, but Fail to offer a solution...

you sound like liberals during the Iraq war....bicth, moan, cry, complain, but offer No Solutions...

can you spare me the partisan rambling and simply give me a clear solution?

Yes or No?

start with that...

if you have a solution say "yes" and state it

it you are completely clueless to any solution but instead have made this thread because fox "news" or any other pied piper of the partisan lemmings have prescribed you to talk about this, simply say "no"

Yes or No?

can you do it?  simply answer the question starting with a Yes or No answer?

Viewers of this thread can judge which of us is making the more logical case.

You asked for a solution, and I replied by asking, "a solution for what? I deny there's a problem." To which you rejoined, "this is reality. This is happening" Then I retorted that, people being confused about their gender has been a reality throughout human history, yet the separate bathrooms had never been a "problem" that needed a "solution" before, so why is this suddenly a "problem" now? And the answer is that it's an alleged problem now because the left decided it is. And yes, it's the left. If you look at the movement, it emanates entirely from the left.

So, the burden of proof is on you, my friend. If, as you have repeatedly stated, this requires a "solution" you must make a case as to why this is a problem, and why now.

so you couldnt simply answer "yes" or "no"?

Lets try this again...

This is the question I asked...

when a female to male transgendered person enters a ladies room, you are telling the women to simply tolerate having a person that looks like and acts like man in the ladies room?

should the women have the right to question the person female to male transgendered person that looks like and acts like a man?

if not, what if a man just enters the restroom, should they not question that individual because in your solution they are required to be all PC about it?

help me understand your solution that you propose for this occurrence.... Im not sure exactly what your proposed solution is

now take a deep breath and slow down...

You failed to do it last time and instead went on rambling started bringing up right/left...

This time, take your time and  think it through first before you start babbling on...
